What would average temps be for March?
Also is it the full course?
    Thanks

    couple questions...

I am trying to get a bike issue sorted out, when does the late fee start? How much does it increase the price?

Thanks, I really hope to attend but the old bike is acting up, hope to be there!!

really odd problem, the bike revs up fine in neutral but when going down the road it wont rev past 5 or6k rpM. I already installed a new clutch, but thats not it. I ordered new carb diaphragms since they are very deformed, other thoughts are a bad CDI, or bad coils. I am going to test out the changes this weekend, if I get it fixed ill be there next weekend. Any more ideas? its an 00 gsxr 600, carburated

Are your clutch wires still in the Harness from the perch?

    Did you clean the carbs?
My buddy's 99 R6 (carbed) did almost the same thing.
He cleaned the carbs, jets, etc and that fixed it.

Looking forward to meeting everyone at my first bike track day March 6. A friend of mine is coming for his first track day as well. I've been tracking and racing cars for several years with NASA but wanted to try it on two wheels.

What is the Novice pace like? The HPDE1 (beginner) group with NASA could sometimes be tedious even in underpowered cars because of the "trains" (they tightly regulate passing based on the acknowledgement of the slower driver) but now I worry I'll be the slow one on a bike. Just glad CMP has lotsa runoff.

    See you next weekend!

Worry not! We sub-group the novice class so everyone is running at a comfortable (for them) pace.... the first couple groups will be running at an intermediate pace, and it works back from there.

We want everyone to be at a comfortable pace and IN CONTROL. After all, there is no "spin and continue" with bikes as there is with cars.... :D

    See you this weekend!!!

LOL yeah our school mantra "in a spin? 2 feet in" has no context on a bike!

I've been browsing...Allowing passing in corners seems like it should keep things moving freely. I'll start in the back and see if I catch anyone! In terms of pacing a sub-group, does the control rider/instructor always lead, or move around (passing/allowing passes) in the pack to watch everyone?

The instructors lead in the morning.... faster groups will pass slower groups at the instructors discretion, but there is no passing within a group. This helps us make sure that nobody gets freaked out by a pass on them, and also gets everyone to concentrate on their riding and making a good line and be smooth....

In the afternoon it loosens up - we break out of the groups and passing is allowed on the straights and OUTSIDES of corners.....

I'll be coaching novice both days.... looking forward to meeting you!!!!!

Forget everything 4 Wheel related to the track... Get in a Mid Novice Group and DONT try to catch anyone.. Go at your own pace...... When trying to catch or keep up you will sometimes lose control or endanger others... Relax.. Have Fun.. and if your not happy let us know...You will be moved up if there is room in I...

So I can be prepared, I'd like to know what you guys wear over the top half of your leathers to keep from getting soaked.
Any links to products would be greatly appreciated unless you're serious about the Hefty bags. I got plenty of those.

Seriously..Heftys work I kid you not...Depends on the temp... In the Summer its way too hot for a jacket.. I normally wear a rain jacket.. or Poncho.. Last Poncho I wore thoiugh ripped due to the flapping.. I have a tight rain jacket and its been working well.. I also put breadbags on my feet before I put my boots on.. That has always worked well for me and dry feet make all the difference in the world comfort wise..

Also surgical gloves under your riding gloves.. I turned into the Smurf Feeler at Road Atlanta last year.. My Gloves were over a Year old but for some reason when drenched my hands turned completley Blue... and I mean Blue.. when I came home people thought I robbed a Bank and a die pack went off or something..And that stayed on for about 2 weeks... No kidding...

Riding in the rain is great and its a very very good way to increase your skill set.. Some of the best times on the track that I can remember were in Monsoons..

You about gave me a cramp, I was laughing so hard reading your post.

I'm going to stop by some sporting goods stores and Target and pick up some ponchos. going to try them on at home and see about the fit...I definitely don't want any flapping. I'll bring Hefty bags just in case and eat a bunch of sandwiches this week so I can use the bread bags for my feet. :D

Question about new tires and rain. I put on some Dunlop Q2s and have put about 50-60 miles on them. However, I've got about 1/2 inch on the left that hasn't been scrubbed and almost 1 inch on the right (lowsided recently, not feeling the right hand turns right now). How will the "new tire shine" affect my riding in the rain?
