I'm sure the weather will change serveral times before the weekend rolls around. If it does rain, would wearing a rain jacket (North Face, Patagonia type) over leathers be acceptable (assuming it fits) ?

Keep the bike more up right... hang off more and short shift more... Dont trail brake.. Get all of your braking done before you turn in... Dont think about the new tire shine and everything will be fine.. Now... If you have Rain Tires ignore all of the above...
The forecast for Saturday doesn't look that bad right now. I would expect at least some dry sessions. Anyone try Frog Togs over leathers or would those come apart?
I wouldnt put frog toggs on the track.. Doubt the Marshall would let you roll out with them...At high speeds they can push back on your levers... I have heard this from people that use them on the street...
Ok, that's cool, but I don't understand how they push back on your levers. I do know that they are a bit floppy.
I could definitely see that happening with Hippo Hands even on the street. Neat idea, but you really need hand guards for those to work well. If it rains much I am not sure I will ride anyway. I have brand new Pilot leathers, although I guess I could wear my old leathers. I am sure my brand new Power Ones would be great in the rain.
So, I had my car washed yesterday, most expensive wash, and it is going to rain today. I'm thinking that I should buy a rain coat and rain tires for the weekend.
Well technically you're not supposed to be chasing or racing anyone in HPDE either, for the same reasons. Those who do anyway are termed "HPDE Champions". 8) Anyone seen the FLATOUT [ link ] animation? LOL

Yes,,, There are hook ups scattered around the pit area. you have to pay the track for it. not sure what it cost. if i remember correctly, if you rent a garage, you get free power. not forsure what they cost but i think its worth checking into. sure was nice to have when i was there.
Thanks for the links. I did a search but it was information overload so I decided to post here. Since, I'm clueless about tire pressures, how much is the temp that day and track design relevant to setting pressures:?:
I take you just pay them and sign up or when your entering the tack or how does it work? this is my first time at CMP
Yup, just pay at the gate.... she'll let you know what's available for power or garages and the cost..... t
Yes.. There is parking outside the gate on the right and the office is right there as well.. Walk up and register/sign waiver get armband then enter and have fun! Just a tip if your a Novice Rider ....its best to grab a pit/camp spot close to the classroon by turn 1.. It will save you some walking through out the day...
