First crash on the track and I'm putting her back together now so I can return to the same place I crashed, Blackhawk, in a week. I'm gonna show that track who is boss for my first track day since I crashed.

First though gotta do something about these ram air intakes.

I had read on the Gixxer forum that fiberglass repair would be best. Not done that before, so it probably won't be pretty, but not opposed to it. I had also read that I can gorilla tape them and that can suffice.

A friend on the forum here said he thinks the cracks might be a little too big for fiberglass repair. Any input is appreciated, thanks! :thumb:

Have you tried aftermarket for a new set or eBay for used ones? For how much effort it looks like it'll take to fix it right it might just be easier and cheaper to just get another set.

Since I'm in that business (fiberglass), I'll tell you: I could fix it, BUT...

Lots of sanding, materials and lot of fiberglass work to probably not get a decent outcome. Replacing would probably, in the long run, be cheaper....

I wasn't sure if a single patch kit from Home Depot would do the trick. I wast trying to be a little too cheap.. Right after I post this message I found some aftermarket plastic ones for ~$80 on eBay.

They'll probably get gorilla taped for Blackhawk, but by the time Putnam rolls around the plastic ones should arrive to me. Thanks.

After you use it, make sure that you open you air cleaner box and clean out any chips that might make their way into you airbox. Don't worry if they do, your filter will capture it...
