Make sure you fit a suit with a back protector ON, or you end up having to get another suit like I did soon enough.

If you can't make the dime to go ahead and buy one that fits you, you can frequently buy a used one off the WERA boards really cheap which will get you thru the first year - by then you'll know better what you really want to buy and have a better understanding.

Bottom line is: Don't let gear stand in the way of coming out to ride, you won't ever regret it!

I've got the Dianese TRQ-Race Out boots. They are solid, crash-worthy boots with good ankle protection but aren't super-duper comfy over the course of a weekend. Mine have 13 days on them, maybe they aren't quite broken in yet. Crashed in, though.

Hoping to make it up to STG some day and I'm going to probably try on the A* Supertech R's and Sidi Vortice and choose between those for my next pair of boots.

Ok guys it's been months and I still cannot find these gloves in-stock anywhere. I think they are discontinued and i'll never get them.

Any opinions on some good full length gloves that are also stylish like these speedmasters are? Gotta look good while your being safe =)

I love my Knox Handroids, they look bad ass and function good. They're stiff at first, but once they start breaking in they're awesome!

I have RS Taichi GPX gloves, good price and a fit very similar to the A-star GP plus that I used to have.

    The most comfortable boot EVER!

I thought SIDIs were comfy until i bought dainese torq pro.
    Crash tested and phenomenal.

Will not buy a different brand again.

I don't know if it's because i am a female, but ther is zero ankle protection for me in sidis. i can freely tilt my foot inside and out. too loose on the heal.

dainese keep this firm like alpinestars, yet they are flexible in toes like sidis, with 200% more comfort.

It's the super-hard toe box in the Dainese that hurt my feet. The fit is fine, but after a weekend my lil' toesies are screamin! They're protective though, so no real complaints.

Depending on your feet some boots are a no go. Personally I have always struggled with 4E feet to find even a decent fit. I can say though a Sidi is generally narrow with some AStars boots being about an E width. Keep that in mind as you search for black coolness :lmao: (sorry down here black is hotter than sin most of the year and yet people buy it :pop:)

If you can make the drive to STG's open house. Hit that up. Check out the sales and try a bunch of different boots and gloves on. If you dont find what you are looking for for your price range. You will have a better idea of sizing and what brand to look for used. Thank recommend STG to the person you bought the used ones from so they can replace them. :)

I have some cheap, err inexpensive, Teknic Chicane entry level boots. Seriously though, I like them and they treated me well under warranty when I had a problem. But I am looking to move up a class and I have my eye on the A stars. Good time to buy them. The 2012 boots are on clearance everywhere so there are good bargains for either the entry level SMX 5 or one step up to SMX plus. If you are going to get really serious on the track you may want to step up to an even higher class boot. Buy higher than you need and you won't have to buy a second time!

Also there was a post on the forum about Komodo going under and somebody had a bunch of their gear for sale:

I don't know anything about them, but you may find a good clearance price on the vendor or the gear. Do a bit of research, may be a good deal there.

This. Go there and try on everything, then figure out what you want to go with.
