Sorry if this has been posted..didnt see it.

What do people think of the increase to gate fees at Grattan? To be honest it was a shock $5 more is not a big deal but now its $45 for me and my other to get in the track that one of us has already paid to ride. $60 if the whole fam comes.

I heard a little grumbles mainly cause some had family stopping in for a few sessions then leaving. Does STT have no control or say at what Grattan does at the gate?

Not an answer for you, but a similar follow up question I've had on my mind for a while.

I always wondered why there was a gate fee after already having paid to ride at the track. I never understood it. Paying for camping, electrical, and guests I get, but entry as the rider surprised me. My first track day last year (Grattan) thankfully I happened to have a $5 bill in my wallet.

As far as raising the price, seemed to make sense to me. Every other track I've ridden at is at minimum $10 per person.

Well if the norm is $10 i guess they are just following suite..but damn gets even more expensive when your pit crew(family) wanna come out..maybe they should add a bounce house and a ferris wheel lol. That way they can feel like they are paying for something cause most just hang around and emjoy the weather.

$10 gate fee? Is this a new thing for up north, this season, certain tracks, by order of STT, or what? News to me!

I've been accepting of a $5 gate per day fee over the years, as gate fees to go to race events are even higher... they can range from $10 a day to up to $45 for 4 day events I've seen. The thing that hurts more is when we have friends or 'pit crews' to come along and we have to cover that is when I begin to question my hobbies.

    I'm poor!

It is still 5 at Barber I think. But the dollar figure aside consider these.

A gate fee discourages people flitting in at a whim that might be thieves, alternatively they could limit it to riders and guests like that other org did but that prevents a potential new rider from checking it out without knowing someone (I did this).

Charging everyone speeds up the process. So they could raise the track fee 5 and slow the lines down.

I for one don't mind a little higher fee at Grattan, I don't haft to share a shower with another guy now!!!! Bathroom renovation, staff, grounds keeping, lighting for safety all have a cost and those costs are rising everyday.

    Wow!

Not that it was raised, they just had to pay for the people that paid NOTHING - like me -

May 2.... Yes, and it was Sam who said, today only, no charge.

I always found it odd that they charge an additional $5 at the gate for riders. I think that should be included in the original price. It seems kind of like a hidden fee.

This is what kind of sucks. I don't mind paying the $10 for myself. It's when I have to add the disclaimer to my friends who want to come out, or cover their gate fee where it starts to suck a bit.

Go there for a WERA event! 10 bucks my a**! I brought my pit crew (my two kids) and the gate fee was something else! I dont mind 5 or 10 bucks for a STT event. I use there bath rooms and what not. Cost them money too and it doesnt really look like they get rich on that gate fee....:)

One of about 50 bullet points. Not listed very prominently. More importantly, it is not listed anywhere in the "shopping" section where additional costs would be most relevant. Anyone that has ridden with STT before would know to expect it, but at my first track day, I was a little put off by the extra expense at the gate. I wasn't too upset, though, since it was only $5. Is it still $5?

I have only paid a $5 gate fee at ACC and Barber. Personally I have to agree that I think is kind crap to pay as the rider. Yes if my wife comes she should have to pay for entry or anyone else that comes in.

Heck this year and Nola to e best of my knowledge the track has waived the $5 gate fee in favor of us having a trackday there. At least that is the way I see it. Maybe they charge that fee because they can. I mean maybe they can get away with it because if we are not renting the track someone else will gladly fill our date.

Yet you get in every time?? :bounce:

every track seems to have their own thing with that. some $5 & some $10 but it's pretty much the norm.
