He is off today with a concussion. I'm sure he will be on here soon enough but that's the updated status. One of the instructors had my crash on video. Any chance you are on here? I can't wait to get that video from ya and watch it. (I was on the blue R6) I crashed right in front of ya in corner 2.
I'm alright. Thanks for not hitting me!!! Tank slapper was the culprit I remember the start of the tank slap and then trying to crawl after my body stopped on the pavement. I fell back down, and then finally was able to get into the grass, after a second attempt. Nothing was broken, thank God. I got some vicodin, though 8) Thanks STT and the medical staff for taking care of me.
Bummer! Glad you're ok.. I was in the pit area and happened to be looking that way, saw a puff of smoke and the sound of the bike going down, then saw you roll to a stop. Never a good sight. Again glad you're ok as well as the rest of the folks who had misfortunes over the weekend, especially the gent who went off in the new section early sat.
I enjoyed rubbing elbows on the Track with all you guys, David Grey and Richard Harris and Jason Disalvo I hope my elbows weren't out to much as you guys passed me good to know I'm riding a good slow line for you guys to learn how to pass the slower guys better............lol Good to see Mont show up , motogypsy big thanks for the good deals!!! And all the help with getting my butt off the seat more it did help!!
hey guys getting around to the videos I took here's a sample: glad to hear your alright man. General video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aZxE5iGAnQ motogp hero cam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXBP_iUJofQ the suspension cam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VcyOFIAPvo rear shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GS2jRQ8-4Wk I have lots of footage to go through.
thanks tikki. Any video around my crash? I'm pretty sure it was the second to last session. Nice shots by the way, creative angles!
nope none of yours my cameras just dont make it the full day 20 min every session. But for 8$ a camera its not bad I had to mod one to get the wide angle. Glue a jelly lens on. I did get one, it was sat. first session, fresh battery , the crappy part was It was loose so the video is very bouncy. I might try a slow motion on it.... Edit heres the raw video of the wreck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N87XZswz_98
8$ for the entire setup minus the micro card. Yes, that cheap. the rear butt shot was done with a 20mm tall socket duct taped to hell on the tail which raised it about the 2" it needs to help clear the seat. I also think a wider angle would help on both the butt shot and helmet, its just too tight still. Im going to keep working on it and get a prototype made. However I do think these ultra cheap ones have smaller batteries. The average I see is usually around 20$+ These were direct from China so I dont know until I crack one open, but the sound on them sure sucks compared to my first one. Here's my youtube channel all video taken with this camera http://www.youtube.com/user/tikki50
that's CHEAP!!! Great quality for that price! Have a link for these things? Maybe PM, if you'd rather not post it up I'll mount multiple for that price!
yep here's another session has some passing going on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIsOAJ8uuYg Ok just so you can see the real quality of these things here are some samples of the raw footage before youtube compresses them: http://sakorasalon.com/downloads/track_videos.html
Here's my video from the last session of the day. Need to work on the mount... it's a little shakey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65re3ls_BuY
Mine is a gopro HD. Off the camera, the picture is amazing, but I had to compress all of the quality out of it for youtube.
yeah youtube does video no justice, mine look much better raw, once youtube gets them they really degrade the video. Looks good, bouncy yes, better than some of mine that were so bouncy they were worthless. Tape helped mine but then again my cameras are altra cheap.
Hahahaha, well i'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm also glad he missed me. It turned out to be a pretty good video.
I only made it out for Saturday, but had a lot of fun and learned more. Big thanks to Wally for letting me follow him around several times and for the feedback. It was very instructional to see the line at speed. I need to keep working on turning in earlier and earlier like turn 4 when hard on the gas as well as the normal braking zone turns. Thanks also to Tea for continued advise (as she was my one of my instructors at Grattan a few weeks ago). By the end of the day, I was doing much better vs the first session when I was trying to find where to go and getting used to riding again. It was nice meeting tikki50 at the end of the day when I found out I rode (offline :wink in front of him during the first session and after getting a chance to chase him (and try to keep up) in the last session! Matthew.
