Anyone going to these track days that is from Illinois? Had my first track day at the Autobahn yesterday (Monday) and fell inlove. I was on the black and gold triumph daytona 675 with a black shoei and gold visor. Thinking about making the trip to this track. Heard it is awsome there!

I really want to sign up! I am about 60% sure I am going, still trying to figure some things out!

Do you guys think I will have to go through the drills again? I would rather not, I felt very comfortable the second half of the day when it was open track for the novice group. I felt like I learned the full ACC course pretty well. The only thing I would need is to follow a coach just to show me the line.

I wasn't planning on going, but I don't know if I can wait until next year to do another track day. Not a big fan of camping.

I'm going if I can get someone to split gas/hotel. I've got room in my 6x12 enclosed trailer for another bike and gear.
Grattan is my 2nd favorite behind Barber. Especially CCW.

I'm seriously considering going, if someone has a trailer spot and can pick me up in Chicago. Can either camp or hotel it.

Absolutly 100% you need to do the drills again especially at Grattan.
Grattan is likely one of the most technically challenging tracks in North America.
The first time you go over corner #3 you are going to poop your pants:eek:.
    You can thank me later.:thumb:

Have fun I may also end up there.

Dang, I hope the pace doesn't stay as slow for such a long time like it did at ACC. Felt like a few sessions were wasted. I'll try to pair up with a coach and talk with them about it. Thanks:)

please do not let your ego get the best of you, especially at grattan. it never ends well. grattan's track layout has 90% of its turns are either off camber, blind corners, or has elevation chages. this is one track you dont want to go out blindly. registe in novice group, raise your hand in the 1st novice classroom get together and ask to be put in group 1 or 2. those are the faster N groups. if you go directly into I group, and not knowing grattans lines, you can put every other rider out there in jeopardy, and I groups is already sketchy with neb I riders to faster I riders.

if you would like to see how Grattan fows both CW an CCW, go to youtube. i have a few CW and CCW pov vids of grattan. just search for DemonRR1.

Oh! You thought I wanted to move up to I group, no way! Haha, I know I am not ready for that group. What I meant was N group 1 or 2. The pace they were going seemed pretty good at the start. Which is what I wanted to know if thats what I should do.

after the riders meet in the AM, and the N group riders go to their classroom area, they will ask who is skilled or has a good idea of how to ride on the track. then raise your hand and ask for group 1 or 2. if the coach feels your in the wrong group fo your riding abilities, he/she will bump up or down as they see fit.
