Yes, Redline Superbike is having their annual bbq with raffle for the TBI -Traumatic Brain Injury - Saturday .....bring a couple of extra $ for the food and raffle. :thumb: Packing now and will be there Friday late afternoon.
Hoping to make Sunday if someone has a novice ticket they'd be willing to sell Thanks, Toran 616-485-1777
I will be in for both days (2nd and 3rd track days!!!!) Does anybody know if Ken the suspension dude will be there Friday? Or how to contact him to ask?
Without trying to sound like "a know it all" (I'm still learning) I thought I'd throw this video up to try and show the lines around Grattan. Shows most of the lines pretty good except corner one. I was trying to show Eric the lines and didn't know he had a camera on. About a 1:30 lap time. Basically the same lines I use while turning 1:23.xx's in the races. Feel free to critique my lines. http://youtu.be/9CbvcQKGsN8
Btw if you've got a better video showing the lines post it up. Never hurts to have more than one opinion. I almost always do a track walk on Saturday night if anybody wants to come along. I'll likely be in garage 7 and walk the track right after last session.
Bite me:fencing: Hard to show someone the lines if I take off on them. Bart did that to me my first time at ACC. He says "sure ill show you the lines" 2 corners later he's goneound: should have known better with that nut job.
Really?! Then I'll just shut up with my 1:27:xx's.... J_fuggin, I was across from you at Gingerman in Aug. You probably remember my beat to s#*^ Gxr-750
I don't know if it's been posted this time around but, 129photos, will be there again this weekend to shoot your photos.
Okay enough about lap times, I put mine in there to let people know that those lines were good at a much higher pace than the video shows. I actually thought the pace(lap time) of the video turned out to be just about right. A lot of the advanced riders run 1:32-1:28 so it's right in the middle. Also it's slow enough that I think the intermediate riders can still relate to it. Anyway it should be about learning the lines as opposed to the lap times.:wheel:
I have done the track walk with Steve before. Good info and glad to see the faster guys trying to impart some knowledge to us slow guys. To me as important as where to be is where not to be and why. Helps avoid the common crash situations. See you guys this weekend.
Sat/Sun may have been the nicest weather at the track EVER... although the rain on Friday made Sat morning a little dicey. Thanks for a great weekend, everyone! -Tom
That was a great weekend. I can't tell you how nice it was to be there riding and not worrying about getting photos done. It was great to meet Dave at us129photos.com in person, and I think him and Chris did a great job, it was also nice to have a chance to hang out and chat with so many people that I've met over the last 2 seasons. The weather was fantastic, finally learning the track layout was fantastic, but wow I need to get to the gym, by Sunday morning my legs were completely shot. STT definitely has a very good thing going with the track riding program and the community they have developed. Also, thanks to Eric on the SV650 for showing me the way around Saturday. Your instruction was very very helpful.
