I'll be there - hopefully with both the TZ and the Ape, but I'm running out of time trying to get everything ready! Among other things, I need to revamp the wheel chock setup for the truck bed to accommodate 2 bikes. Will track be open Friday night, or most likely have to camp outside the gate? That's o.k., but means taking everything down - ugh. Come on warm weather! Richard
Hello Everyone. I'm signed up for that weekend w/ a couple friends And also have a friend from washington D.C. and his GF coming out. Super excited for my first track day! what's the info on camping friday-sun nights?
The New asphalt is Nice and Smooth...Run off is a bit sketchy with sand traps that run along the edge of the track in spots. There is a curbing between 9 & 10 that will launch you in the air  Grattan has a new personality with the repave 8)
You'll love Grattan! However, it's too bad you won't get to experience all the old pavement "character". There were more lines and patches on that track than you can imagine. At least there weren't any that the tires tracked in - more of a visual thing. They told us on the first day - "the pros don't try to avoid all the patching, you don't need to either!" How do you take T4, now that that giant patch is gone? You were supposed to slip in between the grass and the patch - about 1.5-2 feet wide IIRC. Richard
Camping is usually no problem on Friday nights, don't know about Sundays... Best to call the track. I'm sure the number is on the website. Bring warm sleeping bags. Michigan gets awfully cold at night in April! -T
Grattan Counting the days and watching the weather before signing up..... Bodywork off to be painted next week......much to cold for camping in April.. ....especially as only a 2.5hr drive... later
Jason and I are in! Absolutely can't wait for the new pavement. Looking forward to railing onto the straight instead of trying to avoid potholes, LOL See ya there. WoooT!
Only 11 more days. I'm in for the weekend. Can't wait to ride on the new pavement. I've heard the new curbing is something you don't want to try and ride over, it's a bit taller than it used to be.
Grattan pics Seams Sweeper sand Looking back before the bus stop It may need a few car dayz to smooth out the seams between lanes. Cross your fingers it remains connected Sans Gingerman sealer :?
