Saturday was awesome! Weather was great. Only a few crashes that held up the works. The best was the guy that bit it first session Intermediate, we had not even made it around the track and were flagged in??????????

    Nice meeting you Lance.

Thanks Monte and Bonnie and all instructors, great as usual!

Yeah that was me. I bought it coming out of the hairpin. Too much gas on a mcahine with too much power and not enough grip. Sorry for the delay guys.

John, you missed the guy who launched his Buell Thunderbolt into the trees on Sunday. that afternoon seemed to have a higher than normal squid factor, & they were out passing on the warmup lap! :x coming hout of the bowl, the Buell guy encountered one & made a pass (a relatively safe one, I might add), but lost traction in the rear, ending in a wicked tank slapper, which sent him careening towards the armco barrier on the outside of the sweeper at very high speed. he jumped off as the bike left the track and both he and the bike slid towards the metal barrier. the bike hit the barrier and vaulted over, ending up stuck in a tree. I didn't see much after the impact, as I was right behind, but I was really relieved to see the rider of the buell rider (i think his name was Jeff) back in the pits, nursing a sprained finger and nothing worse! I thought for sure he was going to slam into the barrier, too. Whew!

Great meeting you, too, John, as well as everyone else I met last weekend, who's names I won't likely remember... I had a Blast! Rich I hope You're alright after that getoff.

    Cheers,

    Lance

Good to hear the Guy on the Buell was okay. I was pitted beside him on Saturday. As for me.... I ended up with a badly sprained right ankle, a bruised bone in my left forearm (possible wrist fracture. I find out later today) and a slightly damaged ego. The bike is not in bad shape either. Mostly right bar damage (throttle and brake res.).

I had just put a new hotrod engine in the bike and should have been more aware of the right wrist. I am mostly pissed because I missed the whole day.

I was behind the Buell too. I didn't see him bail off, but I did see him sliding and the bike still upright heading for the guardrail in a hurry. I should have been watching where I was going but I just had to see the impact because the bike was still going at least 50-60 MPH. Well, I wasn't dissapointed. The Buell (blue, btw) must have flown 10 feet into the air. It was spectacular!

Anyway, the important thing is that the rider is o.k. I talked to him after and he was in good spirits. The bike, on the other hand, may still be flying through the air over West Michigan.

It also sounds like the Section 8 guy on a Ducati got pretty banged up late Sunday in a Turn 11 highside. Let's all just hope for the best as he recovers.

Hey RS125, it was fun following you around the track, at least until i started feeling lightheaded from the fumes... it would have been funny to have Joe snap a picture of me on your bike, people think that i make the Gsxr look small, I'd make that thing look like a pocket bike! you sure rail on that thing, any idea what your lap times were?

The ducati crash was ChickenHawk Chuck, a track coach. I heard he got pretty banged up, I hope he recovers quickly, he's a great guy...

Rich i hope you get better soon.

    Cheers,

    Lance

Thanks for all the clean passing in the intermediate group.

it was my first full day out of novice and I had a blast.

I think everyone passed me at least three times each session.

I did pick it up a bit following the faster as the day went on.

    Lance, thanks for the BBQ

For all of you who missed Lance's BBQ on Saturday, you missed some good eatin BBQ pork and fixins. Every time I rode past his smoker I was thinking dam that smells good. I think he needs a trained professional to sample it. Last I heard K3 had sampled 3 plates.

    Thanks Lance

This isn't the first time I've heard about Lance's barbeque on the forum. I'm thinking that I just might have to stiff out his cooking whenever I see him at the track. (I wouldn't mind being a taste tester too...... )

It's very tasty. Next time Lance, you tell us what to buy and we'll pay for it. You just cook it, ok?

Darn, I don't like to miss free food and fireworks, but I had to go collect my daughter from Grandma. I am happy to hear that the guy on the Buell is OK, was it the guy on the Blue Lightning on Saturday or the guy on the Blue Firebolt on Saturday? They were both nice guys. I do hope Joe got a pic of the Buell in the tree.

I would, but to be done properly, a bit of prep has to be done at home. the meat has to be brined for 24 hours, then my secret spice rub applied the night before... I will happily accept donations, however just to cover costs... I will most likely try this again at BeaverRun if I can get enough interest. I had to beg people to try it. problem was, K3 was soo busy stuffing his mouth with samples that nobody could hear him raving about it! it's a lot of fun for me to do it. cooking is one of my favorite ways to relax & the main reason why I'm no longer a professional chef: I realized I liked cooking it to much to do it for a living.

thanks everyone for the compliments. if only I could ride half as well as I cook...

    Cheers,

    Lance

thanks for showing me that line through the bustop! that helped a lot. I really appreciate that, it was one of the missing pieces of the puzzle at grattan, the other being T3 (thanks to you, too) the line that works for me through turn 1, which Slowone helped me find. thanks again!
