NOT is right, lol with over a 3000 foot straight and a 105 top speed. Ill look like im crawling out there.
It's still fun to let everybody fly down the straight, and then see how fast you can catch back up on the rest of the track. I always have a lot of fun there on the Hawk.
Well, it wasn't too good for me with the rain on Saturday and a stupid mechanical issue on Sunday after one lap. I have to admit it was pretty much my fault on the mechanical. On the plus side at least the axle came loose on the straight and not in a corner. That way the shiny side stayed up and I didn't get too familiar with Gingerman's pavement. Note to self: make sure the rear axle bolt is slotted in the spacer before tightening the axle nut. It was the first time I tightened it, but then I had to loosen the axle to re-adjust the chain and I didn't re-check it. Unfortunately, the side to side ate at least one wheel spacer and chewed into the rear brake rotor and I still haven't gotten it all apart to see if there is anything else, so I was done for the day. I did have some fun Saturday when it dried out some later in the day.
I over stocked beer this time, just didn't have the time with all the monkeying around. Blackhawk sounds good, I will plan for that, although Grattan CCW is tempting. I heard Erwin crashed at RA, hope he gets the bike together soon, I wanted to see how the Truimph ran around the track. Sorry you had a shitty weekend Nick. G-man is an interesting (polite way of saying screwed up  ) track. It's my least favorite track, and yet the only track that I rode more than twice.. I don't know how that happened... G-man voodoo I guess. I want to be in a 6-minute mile shape before I get back to the track. That way, if I go off-roading I could still run across the track and pass you on my feet  It was good to see you too man, maybe I will see you at Grattan if they do CCW. Dude, that sounds scary. Glad that you were able to figure it out before something bad happened.
i read on the nesba boards that it was a crash-fest? hope everyone is good and enjoyed the track. i was not there unfortunately.
g-man And how are all the people that went down ? I saw the medics go out there a couple of times. On sunday moning they were out there for a while hope everyone that went down is all right.
I tasted a little pavement on Sat but Im no worse for the wear. Hope everyone else is good. For all those interested, Sean and I will be going to Grattan as of today. I have a job interview tomorrow and if all goes well with that, and they let me have that Friday off. Were there. If I dont get the job, Were there. Im interested in knowing if Sun is going to be CCW. It will affect which group I sign up for on Sun of that weekend.
a 2 lap vid from Sun... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me88R-xnI8E Sorry Kek but the vids i had on the tail facing backwards didn't turn out so good(positioned to far up) so you washed your leathers for nothin lol still had lots of fun. started the day running about 1:45's... asked a instructor( green kawi zx6?)name?... to follow me for a few laps and see what he saw...gave me a few pointers, worked on what he said for the next few sessions, and the last session of the day I did a few 1:39's... So thanks alot to the instructor for some good tips's. oh and it was HOT out there lol
That was me on the little monster zx6r. You looked comfortable and carried the GSXR well. You were very smooth and never rushed all while being respectful of others with clean passes.
that cam angle is awesome, it really lets you know when/where you're getting on/off the throttle/brakes. (should I put a few more of these /// in?)
It was my first track day after 8 years and I had a lot of fun. I rode my Aprilia Falco red/black on Saturday. Only think I have to say is that I am selling my lovely airhead BMW to buy a track bike and get back in shape. BTW I did ride Novice group.
Thanks Troy, track days as you all know are very addictive, almost like sex except no cudling afterwards! Once the BMW is gone the real fun starts: picking a right bike. Since I love twins I am biased towards SV650 or SV1000, or another Aprilia.
