The bike and I had a little lie-down today at Road Atlanta. Parts are already on order. One frame later I'm on the ground
low side in 6? bummer. did you get video? please post. and tell us what you think contributed to the get off. more info = safer riders.
That's a still from the video. I have to edit it and get the video down to just the part leading up to the crash. What happened: Going into turn one after the out lap. Trail-braking into the turn and I'm wide. Tried to bring it back towards the apex and onto the line. Front end tucked while I was asking more of the Pirelli Supercorsa SP's than they could provide. Lessons learned (for all groups) Maybe take a little more time to warm up the tires (running OEM DOT tires I wasn't running warmers) Ask yourself if the tires you were using in N will work at a faster pace in I, and if the tires that were working in I will work in A. Don't be afraid to run off the track. I've run off the track my fair share, but for some reason I made the wrong decision to try to save the line instead of using all the track and available run-off. When Felix tells you you're leaning over VERY far and not to lean over any more, LISTEN TO THE MAN! :lmao:
Yep, it was a bit of a crash-fest this weekend and I was feeling left out. My thumb is a little sore along with my thigh, but nothing too bad. I imagine I'll be feeling it in the morning. ;p
By the way, if anyone knows of a place to get leathers repaired in/around Atlanta, I could use a reference. Got to get them patched up this week.
It was rough in Advanced but pretty clean in I.. We only had 3 red flags all weekend in I if I am not mistaken... Great Job everyone...
Thanks! My right thigh (first thing to touch down) is a little stiff, like I did a hard leg workout, and my left thumb, for some unknown reason, is pretty tender but I don't think it's broken. The hardest thing to fix quickly will be my leathers. Those poor leathers have sacrificed themselves quite well for me a couple times...can't say enough good things about Dianese leathers.
good hanging out as usual marc! look forward to doing it again. good to meet you man, sucks that you had an off. glad your alright. get the bike fixed and we'll see you out there. i'm sure the guy with the R6 appreciated you getting his bike home. :thumb:
I actually managed to find some open track in the good ol' "I" group. Also, I managed to take the ol' Honda home "in the same shape she came to the track". It was a good Saturday.
Not in Atlanta but call Barnacle Bill in KY. Shipping will cost to get it there and back quick but the repair will be safe.
I'm glad to hear it. I spotted you on the track a couple times in intermediate and I believe I saw you doing a little horticultural work coming out of 7 at one point. Don't mean to dime you out, just glad you didn't have a plastic/grass interface and brought home your track day trophy. :thumb:
Yeah id say it was a good weekend as well in "I". Only incident was the guys bike that was laying in the middle of the track coming out of 7. I'll have to check and see if I got it on video. I didn't see the wreck. He was a couple turns ahead of me. The flaggers did a great job because I saw the waving flags, yellow and red, going into 6.
Yes 3 Reds in I all weekend.... That is a NEW TRACK RECORD for Intermediate... :thumb: Great to se everyone... A special Thansk to ALL the I Riders this weekend for riding with their Heads on..... It is greatly appreciatted...
There is someone out in Austell I think.... Stitcher Anne? She should be able to do it also... I dont know her contact info...
