Boy doe's THAT sound familiar!! Only problem is while you're in the potty, they run over and check your timer,so when you lie by 2-3 seconds they call you on it!! I "stretched" I think once on times....never again!!~
Johnny, I just hope we don't have to put a big yellow "Do Not Follow" sticker on your back like we had to last spring @ Barber.... t
I have seen anything from 1:40 to 2 flat in "I" depending on the group that day. Seems like 1:50-5 is mid-pack with the faster guys dropping into the 40's. However if you have never been there I advise you to look at times at 5PM and not before. The track is a blast but has more than a few places to go hero  Turn 5 and the final turn onto the front straight are great highside opportunities if you are chasing time and not used to the track. It will take you most of day 1 to get a consistent line and brake points (most people). It is my home track so I am used to it and find it amusing watching the progression. Day 1 morning: watch out for swervers and strange braking (especially going into the museum turn) I look fast Day 1 afternoon the swoopers are remembering the turns for the most part and most everyone that is going to is runnign decent lines. Still advantage me on the brakes into five  Day2 morning most people are set but a few new riders come in. Small number of new to track riders. The folks that are truly faster than me are now holding their own Day2 afternoon: Filthy buggers this is MY track don't attempt to smoke sheep here
Good points...."I" group will have a wide variety of riders/speed.The track is 45' wide, but if you are one of the faster riders, you will notice real quick closing speeds at a few spots on the track. You'll need to think quickly and plan ahead, but again 45' there is alot of room to get around other riders.
Thanks for the tips. I'll make sure to watch some videos tonight and look at track maps to focus on those two turns.
Yeah, I started running into that problem towards the end of last season where traffic and that range of skills was becoming an issue in "I", so I know what you're talking about. From what I've seen, it seems like a big enough track that after a couple of laps the group will get spread out and I'll hopefully find safe places to pass. Now I just have to get through the rest of the damn work week!
Bring rains and all rain gear...maybe that'll help.I ain't driving 12 hrs to sit around, rain or shine I'm riding.(I think) lol
dude, I have so much fun shooting in the rain (my equipment hates it). As long as it's not snowing, we'll have fun, right? w0000000t!!!! GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111111!!!!!!!one!
Barber is pretty good in the rain. Good drainage and consistent pavement. Of course better in the dry like it is going to be
Fun....always!! I don't have enough rain expierience so great oppertunity to put on the old gear and just go out and ride, aint' no race.First time going to GP shift too,so I figure good way to get used to that, doing alot of short shifting and such.Then....we party.
I will put some rain gear over the leather. They prolly won't dry out enough over night.I happen to have extra leathers(old shit-box ones) boots, gloves and helmet,I'll just use that stuff
Better yet pick up a set of un-vented leathers to pull double duty as rain/winter leathers & still wear a rain jacket.
The weather reports I'm seeing show rain early in the morning Sunday but then clearing up. Hopefully it dries up enough for some afternoon fun. Sucks for you guys riding saturday though.
