Wait until the Hix & Federson video's pop up.. they were the guys that left the camera bike in the video :thumb:
And the inside apex of that corner is where pit in traffic may interfere with those continuing IMO. But we'll see how it plays out.
I do not claim to know anything about the track except from the video and all I can say is that it looks like a car track "all the way"? It does not look safe for bikes that are at speed? We said the same thing about NOLA when they first opened it! Turns out that it is safe for bikes..... Kind of!
Really? So you've NEVER personally been to the track... but yet you race, coach and do trackdays at tracks that have points that are equally, or more... as dangerous.... and you pass this judgement. Not too sure about that. Huh..... we used to ride Road America when Billy Mitchell bridge was still there..... we weren't "out" then. I am in constant communication with the management at the track - I am fully confident they will do what is required to make the track safe by the time we get there next year. t
You are correct grasshopper....... that's probably what we'll be running. I know everyone here has on opinion... based on some youtube videos or whatever. Have you been to the track? Have you had a discussion with the corner working crew that works for us (STT), WERA, AMA, WSB, etc., that will also be working this track? Are you talking to the track management about how things will be tweaked over the coming months? Didn't think so. t
Any idea on their plans yet Trev? Obviously gauging distance over a video can be misleading. And as you know, it's not just the impact zone/run-off areas, but corner exits as well, where something like a mechanical issue, bikes coming together, etc. can result in off-track runoffs not typically planned on. Nothing you don't already know. PIRC is one example of a guardrail posing an issue. I've been talking with ownership for a couple years now about fundraising and somehow getting protection at the end of the back kink, where I've seen several people run-off, hit, get hurt at. It's not from my doing, but they've ultimately decided to just move earth to add run-off to completely fix the area of issue. Good luck with everything. Eager to hear how things go. Hoping NCM can become a great venue for us to visit.
Trevor's right, until it's been ridden a little, nobody knows, and the rest is speculation. The only corner that concerned me in this config (just looking at the vid and the map) was 19 (pit out and continuing traffic are using the same apex...But we will see (for me, in October). Given the dissapointment with Bluegrass (remember that?) I'm just thankful a track fairly near my house actually came to fruition...
T19 That one doesn't look fun  The rest of this track, however, looks amazing! And quite a few challenging corners, for sure. I'm very excited to hear how it goes on bikes. It reminds me a 'lil bit of NOLA (perhaps only because it's so huge, especially that straight, woah) :rawk: :wheel:
Cmon now..... Like CMP's last turn.... Get crossed up and Power Wheelie Down the Straight in All 5 Gears!!:getdown::getdown::getdown:
^^^ That's all you need... Now we'll get a bunch of photos on the US129 website that look like this! Mind you, I'm just jealous because I can't do this! -T
 Me too. I can't judge crap from a video or a track map. Hell, I walked Barber and I had no idea what it would be like on the bike. :wheel:
OK, That layout looks spectacular. It's going to take a while to learn all those corners, but will sure as hell be fun trying:getdown::wheel::woot:
So they are going to force us to use the chicane, instead of the kink, at the end of the front straight a la Road America?
Force is such a harsh word. I'll probably ditch the chicane. Perhaps we can discuss over beers at Barber. t
Keith, unless I'm missing something here, that will be Pit IN, not Pit Out. Pit out looks like it's over by T2 and T3. ???
