Can someone provide me a link to good on-board video footage of a Summit Point lap? I'll take Loudon, Pocono (East & full course), VIR, Road Atlanta and Daytona (old configuration) as well if you have. Thanks.
iI can tell you where there is one in a kart if your interested. www.woodbridgekartclub.com. go to video page. Do you want to just see the layout? If I where u I would just go to you tube and type in Summit Point. There are lots of videos.
papa, I don't have anything onboard, but I do may still have trackside video from summit...I have to check...I remember trying to get it into multiple formats to play for you properly, did I ever get that to you? kath
Papa....send me a camara and within the next year I'll send you footage of several tracks that will "appear" like slow motion, but if the equipment is good, will be perfectly clear; Maybe 80% of "real" time
I'm all set. I was discussing track safety with a friend here and I wanted to show him what some of the tracks look like.
Papa, why do i have the feeling the trackside coverage Kath sent you may contain footage of me "sleeping" in turn 5 @ Summit?
I guess she was discreet enough not to send that. I did not know your little adventure had been captured on tape.
Uh oh...yeah...I left that out...Pat is that something you wanted? I'll see if I can't dig it up....hopefully I still have it somewhere... kath p.s. hey did you ever upgrade your Mac? Another transgression on my part...just procrastinating really, since I always love a good nerdy Mac discussion...
do I need to add anything else? kath typing from a black MacBook 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRam with 120GB Hard drive and OS Tiger...LOVING IT!!!!
Internet and fuel injection/electronic diagnosis. The diagnosis may be an issue. I'll need to make sure the software is Mac compatible. Lastly is the price issue. How do Mac prices compare?
You can buy any Mac, and depending on which one you buy, you will just need to purchase a Windows emulator to run any windows software. if you buy a Mac laptop with a PowerPC processor (such as an iBook or G4 Laptop), you can purchase VirtualPC 7, which will open a new window in your mac in the Windows environment and you can hot switch back and forth from MacOS to Windows OS. If you buy a newer Intel based Mac, you would use either of the following as well as Windows XP SP2: Parallels: http://www.parallels.com/ which you can switch without rebooting or BootCamp: http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp which lets you run windows full speed but you need to reboot to use your windows apps (btw, both programs are supposedly faster than Virtual PC) For all the aggravation you save with viruses etc., plus the beautiful integration of MacOS software, I should think it's worth it. Macs virtually don't get viruses, but just in case I do recommend ClamXav, a free software that watches folders you select for viruses and can do automatically scheduled or manual scans for viruses. As far as price, the MacBook is a very reasonably priced laptop for the performance, and you can always look at refurbished macs on the Apple website...we just bought a 13" MacBook Intel Core Duo for a Christmas present and saved several hundred dollars over the new price (cost us $800 instead of $1100): http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APP...e.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=14FBC7C5&nclm=CertifiedMac hope this helps.... kath
