Thank you guys for all the kind words. We have shared them with Draik and he is even more excited to come see you all again.
Yup. I stood in line for awhile afterwards but had to take off before I made it to the front. Was only wanting to buy 1 or 2.
Anyone have onboard video footage of the novice sessions from saturday? There was one guy in a yellow CBR that had his gopro mounted backwards for a session and I stayed on his tail pretty good. Would like to see if my BP looks the way it feels.
I had my GoPro on the front some of the time and on the back other times. What kind of bike were you riding? I'll look and see if you're in any of the videos I got.
the one in my avatar. Black/silver GSXR Number 37 on the front. black suit, black/white helmet  Oh yeah, does anyone remember the guy during the riders meeting that said any novice that purchased tires that day would be able to get $50 off the next STT track day? How do i go abouts gettin on that deal cause Im ready to sign up for the 25th!
Well, I looked through my videos from that weekend and I don't seem to have you in any of it. Sorry, man. Hopefully someone else can give you a hand. It's going to be a while before I can get back on a track since I crashed at Putnam (may have to wait til next season). But if you don't get your own camera by then, let me know and I'll gladly follow you around for a session so you can get an idea of your body positioning and where you're at on the track.
Fplcman had a camera. He was on green Kaw in the novice group. Send him a mess and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to share the video.
I really loved this track. I can't wait to hit it next season when i get some more experience (and confidence with speed) under my belt and a appropriate track bike!! As always the coaches were great!
I had an interesting experience at this particular event. I was only there on Saturday running in A group. During the first session, I was knocking off the rust and getting into the groove like most of the rest of the group when on the second lap I was passed within inches on the straight with nobody else around (I was getting up to speed and he was hauling balls). I've been running in this group for several years so I'm good with tight passing but when there is no reason for it, I took a little offense to it. During the third session, the same guy came around me within inches again on the straight and turned around and flipped me off. The first time I was going at a medium pace since it was early but there was more than enough room; this time I was running a 1:21-1:22 which was mid pack for the day and I wasn't doing anything that would hold him up. I went through the pits several times looking for the bike color and leather color but couldn't find him. Wasn't looking for a fight, but definitely curious who the hell he was and why he was trying to scrape paint off my bike for no reason when he was clearly faster than me. I was trying to figure out everything from "is he a friend I don't recognize" to "did I bang his daughter back in college." Through the rest of the sessions, I noticed him pass me a few times with the respect that should be given to fellow riders. Clearly this dude had some issue with me and/or others he needed to work out. I wasn't a big fan and hope it doesn't happen again.
