Her name is Felice??? Too Bizarre! I highly suggest the 1st gen! Somewhere (have to dig through some cd's) I have a pic of my bike - it's not an S version. I don't care for the style of the fairing on the S.
Wow! It looks awesome in red! 8) I also like the black frame, swing arm, and rims. Someone at work has a blue one, but the red is much better IMO.
Nice pictures! we got an SV, too! a 2001 SV650S in maroon. It needs a bit of work, though: new fairing, (might as well get a race fairing, right?) top triple clamp(shoud do the gsxr-conversion, I've got a set of gixxer forks in my dining room, that i just haven't been able to put on ebay...) Battery, gas cap, tires, chain & sprockets. the bike is a theft recovery, but we got a great deal on it, & I'm relatively handy with wrenches. grattan is just a mere 32 hours away... Are you & Wade going? Cheers, Lance
Woohoo - congrats to Felice! It's hard to pass up a good deal! Should definitely do the gsxr conversion, especially if you already have the forks. Wade and Misko both made some money on their conversions by selling all the parts they were replacing. Ebay is your friend (as I'm sure you already know). Also, check out SVRider for other parts that you need. Of the things you listed, I don't think we have any spares. No, we aren't going - didn't get signed up in time. All that's left now is Saturday Advanced. But, we are both signed up for BeaveRun, Misko too.
I did have a pic of my bike after all, but not a recent one... That exhaust is now on Wade's bike (it's loud), and we put his stock exhaust on on my bike - hopefully I don't add to the character he's already given it. I was able to get some upgrades from Wade and Misko doing the gsxr front-end conversion: It now has clip-ons, rear sets, ss lines, redid the forks, and added a windscreen. It came with a rear seat cowl, but Wade is indefinitely "borrowing" it. Have any pics yet of Felice's bike?
Here it is: it needs some work though. since is was a theft recovery, the scumbags that stole it broke the top triple clamp, gas cap, & pillion lock, so all that needs to be replaced or at least the triple clamp & gas cap. they also trashed the plastic, but I've already got ready to paint spares, that's to our fellow board member, Bill Musilli!
I went to Ed Bargy's school last month. It was AWESOME! Great price, terrific instruction and Ed is a HOOT! I went so that I could learn how to do what I love without killing myself, and for some dang reason just got my WERA Prov Novice license. Go figure. I don't know what I was thinking! But I'll have fun! (til the $$$$ runs out!)
