WAO!!! On a 1198s...hit redline at the top of the hill!!! Seriously tape over ur Speedo, and stop worrying about the straights!! Wide Ass Open!
All speedos unless fixed with a speedohealer are off my 6% or more with stock gearing my 03RR -1+1 was off by 16% so 185 would be 155mph. So speedo on track = worthless:thumb:
wheres mason to come along and say "pin it to win it" ??? lol i usually take my phone out right at the kink and start my speedo app...but i have to put it back in my pocket before it loads so i have no clue.. :rawk:
While i obviously can't be 100% certain, i would bet a paycheck that nobody on here has seen 186mph on that back stretch. It ain't happening. If you did, you damn sure didn't make T10. As previously mentioned, what your speedometer says is useless. On a 600, if you are seeing 150 or so you are doing good.
I think I see 160 on my GoPro video's but that's with gearing and a speedohealer that is roughly calibrated. 1000cc btw. I have better luck at the other RA (Road America) where I can pin it multiple times and look at the speedo. Never hit the red limiter in 6th there but got darn close.
One thing about the XB, you won't see it pulling away, more like wanting it to move out of the way lol. R/A is a lot of fun, but the tractor can only hit 138-139 mph and takes a little time to get there. Not the best track for the tractor but it is still a blast.
Too fast?..not in my opinion, seen plenty of 250s at Road Atlanta. You will get passed with pretty substantial speed disparities though. Just hang to the right on the back straight and you'll be fine, plus it well set you up for turn 10A. I say go for it!:thumb:
No it is not too fast. Ive seen 250's every year I've been there and they were all having fun. The back strait is the only place where speed is an issue. The rest of the track you will catch all the people that passed you. If you and Reg can make it please do. It's a very fun track.
You've got almost a month.........trade it in and show up on a Busa! :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously, as has been stated, when you come out of T7 (right-hander) get to the right side of the track...smoothly of course and you will be fine.
Yea Ride! Road Atlanta is to great of a track to sit out at!! Its a big track, if ur slower on the straight theres plenty of room to pass u. In fact, the heck with getting over, Id draft every bike you can. I did a few laps on a Aprilia RS50 with big bore kit on it there and it was actually fun esp thru 1to5. And it was just a 70cc bike..
I'm going to stick with N since I haven't ridden this track before. I just don't want to get in anyone's way since my bike tops out around 110 and takes a LONG time to get there. I'll try to just be uber predictable.
