I'm there both days! ... Will be coming in Saturday Morning and will be pushing it time wise :x .... I have to work Friday and will be leaving straight from the Station... See uins thar!
Saturday Novice class. I'm driving down Friday night from Charlotte after work, but won't be there before the gates close, so I'll be rolling in early Saturday with the ole blue dodge and the trumpet in tow!
Sunday - "I" Coming in with a couple of other folks from Greenville, SC First time on this track - looking forward to it
Driving down from Canada  Well it looks like I'll be diving down from Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. No I haven't lost my mind. June 20-21 was one of the only times this month that I was going to be able to get on the track. I was originally booked for Bluegrass but that went down the tubes so I decided to drive to Atlanta. I've got a favour to ask some of you guys. I'm trying to get everything in the back of my truck so I don't have to tow a trailer. If I leave my generator and pop up tent and just bring the essentials I should be able to do it. So would anybody that has a spare plug on their generator (tire warmers) and a little space under their pop-up tent let me pit with them. I'll be running in the advanced group. This will be my first time to R/A and it would be nice if I could find a track coach to show me around the track for the first couple of sessions. Also where is the nearest Marriott or affiliate hotel. My mother-in-law just got a job with them and I should be able to get a discount. Thanks Steve
cant help ya on the hotel, but I will have my generator, and you should be able to plug in to it, and between me and some of the other guys who will be there around me (other instructors and friends) I am sure we can squeeze ya in under someones canopy Ask around for "Joe", I am an instructor and will be the lead novice instructor saturday. As to getting a tow, it will not be easy to get one in advanced in the first few sessions I bet, but later in the day I am sure you could. But ask around, I might be wrong. I say it might be hard though as most of us are either doing a job in novice, or intermediate, and the other guys are changing tires etc still first few sessions, so it is pretty hectic for staff in the mornings.
Steve, I could make room for you as well.... We will be pitted as close to the tire machine/Paddock as possible since I will be doing tires..... I may be able to sneak out in the first session with you as well pending on how busy I am..Look for a Black Silverado Crew Cab and a Blue Tahoe with a Black enclosed Trailer.. Thats us.. #67 on 2 bikes and a couple of Aprillia's...We will have 3 EZ ups so plenty of places to sleep under...Generators.. Power, and Food Friday and Sat night... Bring a sleeping bag and stay at the track... I will have a extra Air Matress you can use and Road Atlanta does have showers..We camp in style and its much better than a Hotel Room... Marc
Wow you guys are great. All the instructors I've had contact with are very nice including Cam Waters who I bought these two trackdays from. TLR67/ Marc I think I'll have to take you up on that offer. I usually stay at the track in my trailer so that would be prefect. I'll look you guys up for sure. I'll be driving an 1999 blue ford F150 with a capper. I shouldn't be to hard to pick out either I'm 6'5" and I'll be riding an ugly red/black 06 gsxr 750. Thanks Steve
Steve BTW, We will have tools, coolers ect there as well. There is a store up the road you can get some drinks from... This should also save you some room... Just bring me down a good 6 pack of Canadian Beer!
Well I'm not much of a beer drinker but if you have a brand in mind name it and I'll grab some for you. I tend to drink Crown Royal more than beer, I could definitely make a some of that show up. What ever you prefer since I'll likely hit duty free at the border anyway. Later Steve
Steve, As luck would have it I will be there on Sunday instructing. Maybe we can hook up later in the afternoon and get out on the track, although by then you will probably be pretty comfortable with the track. Hope you have a safe trip and I look forward to meeting you on Sunday. Cam
I am out guys. Leah has a birthday party on Saturday. Cam will be takin my place on Sunday. See yaw at Barber next month
