I would recommend getting there Sat night.... Getting set up.... Registered ect.... It will make your Sunday that much more enjoyable... If you do come sunday park (Don't Unload yet) Go register... get your sticker.... Then unload bike and take to Tech... Then go back and start to set up your pit... then go to riders meeting.... then go to Novice class ect..... Lots to do if you just roll in the morning of.... It will wear ya out...
Saturday is not doable this time. This first trip is all about learning, so I guess I'll be learning what it's like to "do it all" on Sunday. Fortunately for me, my "pit" consists of a cooler and a chair, so "set up" will be a breeze. Can I drive up Saturday and do the registering?
7:00 should be fine. Being your first time just ask to tag along with anyone you are pitted next to. Great group to offer advice, just don't be afraid to ask. It is organized chaos in the morning but goes smooth once you understand the order to do things.
Gate opens at 7 AM. But so does Registration and Tech. And you need to register with STT and have your bike teched prior to mandatory riders meeting is at 8:20. My recommendation is you need to be out front about 6:45 so you can be standing in line outside to get your wristband to get in as soon as you can. Recommend: When you get inside, get your bike down and go to registration and directly to tech. Then go finish getting set up so you can be at riders meeting promptly at 8:20. If you are riding in Novice, you will be going to class immediately after tech and then you will ride.
Is there a posted schedule of the running order of the various classes? I have some friends interested in watching my "debut" and I'd like to be able to give them an approximation of the times when the Novice group will be on the track. I'll be there bright and early for all the paperwork fun.
Novices are on track at 40 after, every hour, starting at 9:40am. So 9:40, 10:40, 11:40, you get the picture
Monday only. My first ever weekday trackday! I guess a trackday for each day of the week should be a bucket list item, right?
I had a great time this weekend. It was a long haul from Ohio, but gave me a chance to get my new rsv4 on the track. This was my fist weekend riding with STT... Everything was great - can't thank everyone enough. But those gas pump holds? $400??
