Healed!! As of yesterday no more bandages! It took 8 weeks and 2 days for a gaping hole created by a debridement after serious road rash that tunneled to become nothing more than a (sensitive) scar. Today exactly marks 10 weeks from my accident. It's going to be a great holiday season :woot: Glad to hear you are getting that transmission thing sorted :thumb:
Hmmm. 1) More riding skill. 2) More balls going into/thru the corners. 3) Win the lottery. (most likely of the three so far) 4) CSS at Barber. 5) More track time. (21 days was not enough in 2013) 6) See #1 and #2.
A Brembo MC would be nice, and perhaps some Brembo calipers from the newer GSX-R. 'Course I'll have to buy them myself if I want them...
i guess i'll ask santa for the $ i'd need to give along with my bike to get himn interested. thanks for the link though!
It was a spectacular crash on the track! I was at Road Atlanta racing and I lost my brake pressure going for turn 6. There's an idea that happened after a brutal tank slapper coming over the hill that I thankfully recovered from...all I know is that I didn't have brakes. I didn't want to go straight because of the wavy rock trap so I tried to turn. At those speeds (estimated 100+mph) it didn't work so well either and I lowsided. I was at a disadvantage because I was positioned off the bike with my right leg sticking out and foot hooked. My right leg's leather caught and twisted around and the stretch panel burned through, across the entire length of the track. When I hit the rocks both me and bike went for a tumble and roll. I twisted my ankle and had a 2" x 2"+ burn above my right knee that exposed muscle. In the end it was just a healing process - no skin graphs needed. Anyway, I made my bike back to street trim only (I had all the stuff) and bought a race bike I was at Barber for the last gig of the season with my friends who were riding... I was the girl limping around all day long in purple house shoes LOL This new bike of mine is a rocket! I test rode it yesterday in 32 degree weather!! I need track time to learn how to ride this baby.
If you want them for cosmetic reasons, they do look good. But as has been reported by several magazines and test riders, they do not offer any performance gain. They are a dumbed down, cheapened version for mass production, primarily as a marketing technique. The general public neither needs nor wants to spend an extra $2000 on true Brembo calipers, but they are willing to spend an extra $200 for the Brembo name.
Word. Well I'm counting on a performance gain (in the form of a more predictable, consistant lever with better feel) from the MC, as far as the calipers a set in good condition are down to about $300. I do like the looks, plus it's one of the few "upgrades" I'd be willing to make for mostly cosmetic reasons, as I figure they will pay for themselves if/when I decide to sell the bike.
anyone have any experience with Asus tablets Been looking at tablets Galaxy tab 8 Asus Memo 8 Nexus 7 (2013) I really like the 8" size the best. The Nexus 7 (2013) consistently gets Best value awards. I know Asus makes the Googel Nexus, and the Memo 8 has nice specs.
The MC will be good. A flush with some fresh brake fluid and a good bleed job will help the most. Mine get bled every weekend. The "Brembo" calipers do look better and they could help the resale, especially when most people don't know the difference. Suzuki knew what they were doing. The MC has been a known weak point for years, but instead they change the calipers. Why? Because you can't see the MC in magazines and on the showroom floor. But those calipers jump out. I say go for it. Like I said, they do look better and can be had for 1/6th the price of the true Brembo's.
Christmas came early I finally got a second bike to use for the track. Now its time to rebuild it, 2001 R6. Traded 2 rifles and $150 for it :rawk::rawk::rawk::getdown::getdown::getdown: 2014 is shaping up to be a great year. I look forward to hanging out with the STT fam next year :grouphug:
I agree! I think so. Marginally smaller pistons firm up the lever ever so slightly. Less unsprung weight for sure. Bolt right up.:thumb: Those faux Brembos weigh a ton too. :blah:
Is the spacing the same? I could be wrong, but it seems like I remember something about a spacer being needed to mount them. I might be thinking about the R6 or R1 calipers though; people mount them on Gixxers also. Speaking of which, if somebody wants to save some money, an R6 or R1 MC would be an upgrade on a Gixxer also. It is a 19x16, not a 19x18, but it is a Brembo and better than the stock Gixxer MC.
A larger Rv and trailer, driver, 10 million dollars, hair on my head instead of my back, 30 less lbs! Other than that I'm good! Can't complain with a beautiful blonde, good friends health and the ability to still ride. Merry Christmas.
merry christmas to you and the whole bunch John. i hope you get what you want from the fat man in the red suit. hope to see you all real soon. Eric
