Hey Kath! The Saturday we'll be at Pocono East is the Saturday in May! The April days are usually too cold, but it's looking like April is going to be a nice month. Enjoy! Looking forward to seeing you guys soon, it's been awhile! :D

I hate to be a Killjoy, but remember last year? two straight weekends fo 60 degree weather, followed by a weekend of cold snowy tracktime. Guess which one was ours?

Still had a great time despite the cold. Two groups running back to back sessions was cool!

Wish I could be there. I really hate that I'm going to miss the first Eastern trackday of the season. But the racing addiction is a tough one to fight. Thankfully the April Pocono date is the only one that conflicts with racing.

And don't let weather fears scare you away! I had 85? at VIR for the race last month when the average high was supposed to be only 53?!! You just can't second-guess weather around these parts!

See you all at Pocono in May! Hope everyone has fun in April!

For April riding at PIR, cold isn't the worry, cold & WET is the worry

Yeah, April is definitely a crapshoot....we skipped the last one...we were disappointed not to see everyone but heard it snowed anyway!

We figured we'd go this year and take it easy...we'll be heading to Istanbul two days later to catch the MotoGP and take a long overdue vacation...but we wanted to get some riding in beforehand and warm ourselves up for the season.

Judy, we'll see you guys in May and hopefully we'll have lots of photos from our trip!

Hope to see some familiar faces in a few weeks...

    Kath

p.s. Mary...good luck on your race weekend...I've been procrastinating getting a race license for years so I'm glad someone from the Eastern section is representing the girls!

Good luck to those going in 2 weeks. As I sit here approximately 1.5 hrs. south (and a little east) of Pocono there is freezing rain hitting my windows. Come on Spring!!!!!!

    Hi all,

I am planning to go to the April 22nd day at pocono. This is my first year out on the track, so I am very excited and more than a little nervous :?

Question I had: does the pocono facility allow you to camp overnight at the track? My husband and I have an enclosed trailer we'd prefer to sleep in Friday night if possible rather than staying in a hotel.

    Thanks,

    Bethany

NO. But if you have an RV you can "park" a short distance up the road at one of the other gates.

Looks like it will be in the 30's for loading the trailer early Sunday. I think I'll take care of that Saturday night.

Can anyone tell me if there is electricity available at the pocono track? I heard there is, but that you have to pay for it. Can you confirm, and if so, how much they charge?

    Thanks,

    Bethany

    well . . .

We've been pluggin in to free electricity up until last year. That's when they decided to 'enforce' their $25 a day electriciy charge by unpluggin everyone's extention chords. Problem was, they wouldn't tell you who to buy electricity from, so we were left hanging. We even had our 2-way radios charging for the emergency crew! I think towards the end of the season, they deligated that responsibility to the guard at the front gate, not sure.

Best bet is to bring, or share a generator. Just don't trust the folk who run the track.

FUSA course has electricity in the garages. Very nice 8)
