I would go with some really nice bias ply tires for the new 750.

You know, I was going to say the same thing...

Seriously, I'm going with 2ct's again. They have been great tires, and I haven't even come close to there limit yet...

And, I don't have to worry about warmers either...

I've used regular Pilot Powers in the past but would like to try the 2CT's. I run BT-016's now and have had a lot of luck with them.Yes, I work for Bridgestone but would NOT use the tires unless I felt they were the best for what I do.

I know I had a little fun with you in the past about working for Bridgestone. :D But, I do find it refreshing that you stand behind your product. That in itself has peaked my interest in these tires.

Once I get a little more seat time, I may experiment with BT-016's. But, for now the 2ct's is a good tire, and I have a good idea of what to expect from them...

Do you know when the new BT-003RS will be available in the U.S.? It looks like a good street/track tire, sort of between a DOT race tire and a high-perf street tire.

i've only got the 1 season of track riding under my belt, but I'm in love with the Pilot Power. Cheap, durable, have more grip than I have ability (for now), and they do pretty well in the rain. Especially if you have a street/track bike without monster power, best tire value out there. Period.

I've had the front 'push' on me, but never suddenly or unpredictably. Just the PP's way of saying, "ok buddy, either ride with better form, or back off. I'm running out of grip, and we need to find a compromise here."

I'm considering 2CT's for my next set, just to see how much more quickly I burn through the rear, and I like the idea of using a 2CT up front, and regular PP out back for cost savings (87 hp doesn't exactly eat tires), but I don't want to throw $$ into better tires rather than learn from the feedback the PP's are giving me.

FWIW, the STG deal on 2CT's is an absolute STEAL right now. Not sure I'm going to be able to resist come April! I might have a nice takeoff rear for sale sooner than i think

pilot powers race .....NO TIRE WARMERS

Well i dont use tire warmers unless its below 90 degrees outside then i normally rent some or borrow some but the power race setup never had one problem with traction i have had nothing but faith in these tires on and off the track... well off the track maybe a little less faith... lol

The BT-003RS (Racing Street) launch is March 21 but wont be available in the US until mid year... possibly. I have not heard an official date for US availability.

As usual, I'm late to the party, but I've been running PP 2CTs on my litre bike.

I'm 58 years old, so I'm not out setting hot lap times, but I get tires "out to the edge" and get a knee down on the odd occasion (sometimes even when I'm not crashing  ). My current set of 2CTs have 4 track days and around 4500 total miles on them.

The rear is pretty much gone - squared off and v close to the wear bars and needs to be replaced before I ride again. The front still has some street miles in it, but I'll replace it just because I'll feel better about it.

At this point, for the money, for the wear, for the wet/dry performance, for not having to use warmers and, most importantly for the confidence they give, while there are other good tires out there, I see no reason to try anything else.

I have a pair of Michelin power race on my Honda 919, rear 180/55 ZR17 Med/Soft & front 120/70 ZR17 Medium. I got a good deal on them, and thought it couldn't hurt to run them for a few track days. But maybe I should have done more research.

Do I need to use tire warmers on them for track day?

Michelins recomended pressure is 42 lbs, but from what I am reading here, I need to start out at 30 lbs?

Are they take offs? What skill group are you riding in? If you've been riding them on the street already than I'd pitch them for the track and get some Pilot Powers.

That said...You don't really need warmers but you'll have to take it easy for a few laps to get them up to temp. Warmers will help with reducing the heat cycles and the tires will last longer... The pressure definately isn't 42 lbs. 30 front and 23 rear is where I'd start for the track and these are cold temps.

I just did my first track weekend at Tally this past weekend and it was also my first time riding on dot race tires as well. I'm running the Dunlop 209gp's 190/55 120/70 with no tire warmers and I really was suprised at how well they gripped straigh off the grid. I was draggin knee on the first lap turn 2 every session. I wish I had started running the dot race's a long time ago!

These are new tires, ran one track day in the rain at slow speeds, so they still appear new. I am running novice, and I'm in no hurry to go fast.

Race tires are a waste of $ for all but advanced pace- I'd recommend regular Pilot Powers... sell the takeoffs and spend the $ on suspension.

You'll be hard pressed to get those tires up to proper temp in Nov. They like to be nice and hot to work their best. I'm sure you've found that they're pretty slick when cold and even in the rain! So yeah, you're better off running Pilot Powers.
