Another potential factor is wheelbase. There was an article by Sam Fleming (Army of Darkness endurance racing team) a while back in Roadracing World - I tried to find it but didn't come up with anything. these guys tow bigger trailers, and flipped one under heavy braking with a Land Rover Dicovery (I think that ws the model). They gave as a general rule 100 inch wheelbase. Not that you coudn't do it with shorter, but just realize that the shorter the wheelbas of your car there is just more chance of jack knifinhg under heavy braking. I'm with you guys - I tow with a Jeep Liberty (about 16 mpg towing 1500 lbs in a 5x9 enclosed trailer - fuly loaded) and would like to get a more fuel efficient set-up. There used to be a guy in the old GLRRA race org, who towed an RC-51 with a Goldwing - which I'm pretty sure doesn't have 100in wheelbase So go figure... _________________ John Merlin Williams 1999 MBP-tuned Ducati SS 750 (trackday machine) 1999 BMW R1100RS (daily rider)
