Yeah,we'll have to do the Mexican and Croatian meats again...that was awesome....hey T looks like I'll have the S1000RR for that date.... 8)
Um, the bike is questionable. Just found out my bike is on recall list and needs a complete new engine. WTF!?!?!
Ill be there both days and im bringing two new guys with. It will be my first time at barber... can't wait.
Barber in March Ok, I hope all the trash talk in this thread is in reference to the Barber 3/13 event. Though, I do like the references to classic Belgian beer. Sadly, I think we just emptied our last bottle of La Chouffe the other day and added the empty to the collection. Well, after getting hooked by this track bug last year, 3 track days + 34 years of cruiser riding = novice, I signed up for this Barber event. Bonus, I managed to talk my brother into joining STT and doing Barber and Road Atlanta with me. Question, what is the weather like in mid-March? I am going to assume the chance of """" (<nasty word) is high but I was more curious about the temps. Is Barber like other tracks where everyone sets up the pop-up awnings in the parking lot? Should I ask this in the SE forum? Also, anyone headed south through S. IN that has room for another?
Ahh,another Chouffe fan...join us please. The weather is usually nid 60's to low 70's,perfect for riding.Only had rain a couple times. This year I don't care cuz' I'll have the new bike with rain mode and traction!! See you there,we're usually pitted by pit entrance across from podium, looking forward to meeting you.By the way,we love to talk smack, just for fun,we're harmless.....except for baldy...gotta watch him ya' know.
Surely you not talk of me Johnny..... Barber is such a freakin' awesome track... I'm very much looking forward to this march date. I'm surprised it's not sold out yet... I'm sure it must be getting close. t
Barber sounds rather pleasant minus the precipitation... anybody got trailer space? 8) I'm an excellent driver, and I don't mind driving through the night.
Keep the faith! Watch the events for sale section, people always bag out at the last minute. One year 3 of us drove down with paid entry for only 2 of us. It worked out, but he was sweating. IIRC he got a sweetheart deal from a guy in the registration line and paid less than full price.
First time at Barber, can't wait. What's a decent "I" group time there? Just wanna know how much my times will initially suck.
My lap times last October in the I group were in the mid- to upper-1:50's on an SV. I would guess I was somewhere in the middle of the pack. Most of the riders flying past me were instructors. I was told by a fellow SV rider that there are riders in the A group running as high as 1:50.
So I'm goin to Barber for the first time and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on which route is the fastest to get there from Chicago. Also how long does it usually take you?
