Now the season is over looks like I'll have to dust off the road bike (bicycle) and get fit again. What does everyone else do to pass the time? Tim O'Toole
It's a pretty long list... I've been thinking about this today, as I just got back from Barber, the official "season ender" for me, and I have been thinking about exactly this: - do all the things around my building that need doing. There's a lot of painting and misc. small repairs I've been putting off over the summer, because, well, I've been busy at the track. - catch up on various matters pertaining to my own business. When you run your own business, "paid vacation" does not exist... every moment at the track is a minute away from my studio, where I am always juggling a million projects at any given time. You guys ever notice how Monte seems like he's dealing with, oh, about a million things at once... that's because he IS! Lucky for him, he has Bonnie to help him through the storm.... I'm still looking for my Bonnie.... - paint the gixxer. Tired of the current paint scheme.... looking for something new. I'll be painting the base myself, possibly farming out or renting a booth for the clear. Clear is hard to spray in the alley behind one's house. - fix the track bodywork for my 749: The 749 is fully repaired and back in street trim after the 100mph toss in front of Steve Palella at T4 Autobahn North Course... but I still have to repair the track bodywork. That bike WILL be back on the track in 2009... it's just too much fun. - Possibly contemplating some type of twin (Duc, Buell, Aprilla) to compete in AHRMA BOT or other such class for 2009. Yes, I know I said I'd never go racing.... but I'm thinking of it... t
My winter list consists of: Build project bike for next season Pay off bills Write articles for Trackdaymag.com try to stay in shape by doing power yoga make a road trip to jennings. experiment with recipes for next season's BBQ.
Hey!!!! I didn't write that!!!!!! I KNOW I'm as cool as Burton.... at least that's what I thought as I stuffed him into T2 at Barber!!!! (again, sorry about that Burton, but damn, that was fun!!!!) Sorry bro, completely forgot about those pics.... I'll find them. To be honest, I wish I had video of you backing the KTM into the turn off the back straight at Mid-Ohio... wholly tire smoke Batman!!!! I think Healea is cooler when I'm around.... but I could be biased!!!! t
Yeah I hear that I usually paint in my garage my problem is I never can get enough light when painting. That's probably why I'm an expert at color sanding  Winter for me will be remodeling the kitchen $$$$$$$ maybe freshen up the bike hopefully a trip south for some winter track time
Dooode.... that is waaaay too much imagery right there..... You should eat cheatos with the opposite hand you..... well... you know..... hold the remote with!!!!! t
Hadn't got to the off season yet. Still got Talladega in two weeks and Jennings in December. Then I have to save up to do it all again next year
I drink beer and watch TV so I'm always in spectacular shape come spring. For those of you living in frozen climates that make day trips south to ride, do you have any tricks for the antifreeze to water thing? When I drain my bike I only get two quarts out of my three quart cooling system, so I fill with antifreeze. This also means I need to flush two or three times to go back to water. It's bad enough in my garage, it would suck worse in a parking lot somewhere.
thats right buddy...we are gonna do some boardin and i have to get the track bodywork for the R6 painted
1. Cry 2. Pull the forks and shock and have them serviced. 3. Cry 4. Paint race bodywork for next year. (Sob a little) 5. Cry 6. Cry - This will take me to January. 7. Sign up for 2009 STT membership, and oogle the schedule - good for two weeks of dry eyes. 8. Cry really bad because I know I have 3 1/2 more months before the track season starts. 9. Cry more. What I will do once the track season starts: 1. Smile 2. Run track day - Smile 3. Smile 4. Run another track day - Smile 5. Repeat..... Needless to say, my wife hates winter...
 I'm happy.. This is the first time i've crashed my bike this hard..#@*% Gravel... SO this is the first winter i have to fix my bike ;( I was happy..casue it was a very good ride and i'll think about it when im fixing.. THe kettle moraines claimed it in the end though. .. the entire body, stator cover, everything on the right side.. controls..handlebars..exhaust.. IN michigan i would go rockclimbin in the indoor rock gyms.. but not here... other wise I'll go snowboarding even though it's a tough pic from all the mountain choices around.. (sunburst).. Gonna go pick up Moto GP 08 and play indy.. paint a little bit.. and drink to stay warm
Work on the new race bike for next year...work on believing I actually plan on racing next year.....figure out when the STT Midwest Holiday party is going to be this year.....try to avoid getting the shoulder fixed.....treadmill/weights/little bowling league fun - the usual Oh one new thing - figure out how much beer is required to get Trev to change a few bikes worth of tires..... lots and lots of jonesing for 2 wheeled entertainment.......
Healea need to do some outdoor riding with me before the snow flys got this new bike need to get it dialed in would be up to come over and check out some of the trails over there.
