I was riding with a friend on Sunday, all sessions and can't find even one shot of me or him. But I don't think I would by any images anyway since all of them are average. Non of them have any feel of speed. Maybe thy shoot great portraits, but track day is a dynamic sport and requires some skill to shoot.
I almost forgot that you need to spend few hours to find your pic ...
I'm very disappointed with the service.
Or am I spoiled by the absolutely awesome job and overall experience with Gron4 ?

Hey guys, this is Joe from Electric Eye Images. I plan to get Aug 4th up late tonight so if you only rode Sunday there will NOT be any images of you up yet. I apologize for the photos getting out of order I will correct this tonight. I rushed to get the stuff from the 3rd up for you guys so you could see the work, unfortunately this means I was up pretty late Saturday sorting the images so a mix up is totally possible.

This was my first time shooting Autobahn so I spent quite a bit of Saturday figuring it out. I have a lot more angles Sunday so please stand by on that. I was not able to get the photos from the 4th up yet because I left the track to head home last night and am now at work (at my real job in Columbus OH). I will have time to work on this, this evening so please reserve final judgment until tomorrow morning. ;) Kot, Gron4 does very nice work I agree. Please contact me personally and I'll do my best to make you happy, I take customer satisfaction very seriously.

For those of you who would like to get the decal discount. Please send an image of your bike, trailer or tow vehicle with my decal on it @ joseph.hansen@gmail.com or post an image on my facebook page and I will send you a coupon code so you can get 10% off of your order on the website. If I already shot your decal picture. That's cool. It will be in the pit shots or on track, just give me an image number for reference. I want to make it as easy as possible to get you your discount.

Guys I am not a stranger to criticism and don't mind it at all. I love getting feedback, good and bad so please continue to share, after all, if you don't tell me what you want I can't give it to you.

So now I'm gonna ask. Kot, when you say shows speed, do you mean like a motion shot, can you give an example of something that you are thinking of?

I am thinking something like this.... I pulled it off my FB page, I shot this at Mid-OH at vintage weekend not too long ago. So if it's what you are looking for I can do more of it.

Also, I know this sounds like I'm making excuses but I am a 1 man show, I shoot, edit, sort and my girlfriend Mindy helps show the pictures at the track and take people information and money. I want my work to be better than anyone's but there are certain things I may not be able to compete with when compared to the other big full time photographers. I'm a rider like you guys who loves being at the racetrack and I shoot nothing but Motorcycles currently. I've been riding at the track since 2008 and haven't been able to get myself away from the track whether I'm riding or shooting.

You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time. Keep doing what you are doing and it will all fall into place.

good stuff Joe. i saw some "new" spots and angles where other photographers don't typically go. i usually buy a CD of pics each season, but i've already done that this year. it was nice of you coming around the paddock with decals and all...

Well, I hope I do then.

Stand by for Sunday the 4th. I shot some motion but not as much as I do at a track I'm familiar with. This is just me but I tend to figure the track out, learn the angles, then start getting more creative once I know the spots I like. The slow shutter speed motion shots are also my favorite but the keeper rate is less than 1/2 so it's a constant compromise between having a good number of usable photos and being artistic.

I've shot a ton of days at Putnam so I know where I can make the motion shots work well there so I tend to shoot a lot of it there, Mid-Ohio is the closest track to my house so I've just shot a lot there in general albeit not often professionally.

No problem. Even if you aren't buying, I'd love to have your decal pic for my facebook page. Also, keep in mind, you can buy a single digital download in full resolution if there is 1 you just really like. :)

Kmysiak. The Sunday photos are not uploaded yet. Only Saturday. Please be patient and I will have them up late tonight.

Also, I'm aware of the photos in the wrong group and will also correct this tonight. I do apologize.

I'm mostly talking about the wheels. I don't expect every shot to be a perfect panning shot, especially if the bike is coming straight at you. But if you use a very high shutter speed the wheels will stop turning. But that's just me.

Here are some examples from resent JOS event shot by Gron4. I just picked few pictures of of over 100, but trust me, all of them show "speed" regardless of the direction and angle of the shot.

I understand. He's probably shooting at an in between shutter speed. probably 1/300-500th, enough to stop the bike but not the wheels

I will confess, I shot with my brand new 135mm F2.0 (216mm equiv) quite a bit this weekend and was really excited about how sharp it was while popping the bike off the back ground at F2 (hence the portrait style). The compromise here is, if you are at F2 it puts your shutter speed in the stratosphere even if you are at ISO 100. Not to mention it was a very sunny day. I saw 1/8000th at parts of the day easily stopping the wheel spokes and tire treads.

No less, thanks for your feedback I'll take that into consideration. I'm thinking, polarizer or Neutral Density filter to drop my shutter speed but still keep my Aperture open depending on the weather. Now I really hope I got some motion shots of you. If you rode all day Sunday I'm pretty sure I did. I tried some very different stuff Sunday afternoon in turn 3. There are about 5 different ways I tried shooting that corner, maybe more that I need to try next time. The fencing lets you get so close to the track so I was able to try some much shorter focal lengths than normal. As apposed to sitting on a wall with a telescope shooting the riders. Not that I don't like shooting big glass too.
