OK???? Who is going to work with me and my body position at NOLA and BMP and Tally? I need instruction on trail braking.... I have not taken Disalvo's school but I know I need to. Just can't justify the money YET. However, I know some of the "coaches" have the same instruction for me???? Any takers to work with me for a "Day" ..... Beer and Supper on me????
Ok, this is not what I was shown there last year, that's why I was asking. They went through trail braking with me and nothing on maintenance throttle, if it's open you should be rolling on not maintenance. I just wasn't sure what was meant by it, carry on.
I would be more thn happy to work with you at Barber and Tally.... Cant Make NOLA due to work..:fencing:
You won't be able to perform the trail braking drills during a normal track day. At the standalone schools, we do several drills that lead up to trail braking...then we get into actual trail braking. Trail braking is an advanced skill and it isnt something you can just tell somebody to "go do". The drills start off with the basics, teach you the feeling and control, then work up to trail braking all the way to apex. And the drills are done on the track, one at a time, actually stopping on the track and receiving immediate feedback. Then you circle around and try it again. Of course any coach can help you with your BP, as the coaches always do for every student/customer as part of the STT track days. That is one of the great things about the STT days, the instruction that comes with them. But if you are wanting personalized instruction with video reviews and trail braking drills, you will need to hit a standalone school. :thumb:
From what I gather, Code's curriculum has evolved some in recent years. But the method I mentioned is what he used to teach, because that is what I was taught. And would also be what K3 was taught by him in the past (which is why I described what K3 was getting at).
I figured. I just really wish all of these schools weren't so damn far from me as I plan on hitting a few next year.
I know what you mean. The US is so damn spread out. The closest track to me was Nashville (4hrs) and now it closed. Jennings is a 10hr trip for me. Somebody living over the pond can hit every track on the BSB circuit in about 6-8hrs or something like that.
Yea I think the closest speed academy is about 12-14 hours for me. If my damn friends would get off their ass and do it with me it wouldn't be too big of a deal. Oh well, I'm done with school next week so I will have plenty of time and hopefully cash to hit one up. I figure you can never hit up too many.
We are leaving for the Florida Speed Academy three weeks from yesterday. PM me if you are interested and maybe we can figure out a plan to include you.

I will be down at NOLA. I will not be working as a Staff, but I will be on my TZ250. So just follow my entry speed into the corner... It will help your trailer braking, or end the suspense. -X
thats my dilemma, i work commission only so i'm not too willing to give up my weekdays for my hobby, i've BEGGED jason to do a standalone school up here, but it would have to be worth his while i'm sure. I wish he was gonna be at road america in july & not june as well
Thanks for posting this (along with the other guys chiming in about the Speed Academy). I was really unsure about it but I think I'm definitely going to do one of the dates at Road America. I figure do the track day on Saturday (have never been to Road America) to get a feel for the track, then take the school on Sunday. I feel like I've hit a wall with my riding, and it isn't an particularly fast wall. I need to figure out something to break through.
If I could afford a 40 ft trailer, I'd be all over it. J/k couldn't resist. But seriously, I do plan to attend one of the speed academy spots. Those guys do seem to know what they are doing.
I think someone recently posted a pic comparing Rossi's bp now and then ... how about another old school
