Im using a surrogate 05 ZX10r motor with a cracked block and Swapping all the internals to my 04 zx10r block. Last year the 04 alternator exploded and made a mess of the insides. I installed all new pieces and this year the kick stand switch went out and the bike was shutting off at 10000 rpms and kicking back on at 7000 rpms. Needless to say, that problem only occured one day and it was enough to wipe out a main bearing and a connecting rod bearing. So the 05 I graciously robbed of its alternator and matching clutch basket assembly, is now donating the crank, rods and bearings. So far I replaced the rods and have the new crank in. Next comes sealing the case halves and resetting timing and valve adjustment.
Seriously though, what I'm working on is an 800 hp 351W Ford small block so I can twist my '88 Mustang GT in half. Really!, the engine part that is, plus building up the car's chassis to handle the power, that and rebuilding a '98 R1 for one of my nephew's so he can go to the track in '09. All MY bikes are in good shape for now. I forgot, upping the power on my daily driver from 310 hp to about 425.
I will be wasting a crap load of money on my new kitchen. Its crazy since my girlfriend doesn't even cook :? If I have any money left I might do something with the bike. So far winterizing has been the only thing done to them. Sigh!
I will stripping down the bike, cleaning it all up. Having the front forks re-worked with some .95 springs put in. Hopefully sending the rear shock out too, just depends if the funds are there. Also searching for deals on DOT's or some nice take off's to stock up on
When I did the calculations I determined that to get a similar power to weight ratio to my R1 I’d need about 800 hp. If a little bit is good, and more is better, then too much must be just enough. P.S. This one has been a long term project. Its been going on for near 20 years now. I learned to drive by driving a 1971 Pinto dirt car around in the dirt so . . . If you're not sliding, you're going too slow. MHO
Sprocket/Chain combo, new skins, front fork oil service and new rear shock. Finally getting rid of stk rear shock and sprockets. New brake fluid the usual stuff. Everyone have a good holiday. Cmon Kentucky cant wait!
Call Sportbike Track Gear about an Elka shock. We have had EXCELLENT results and they come set up correctly from the factory with a shock dyno chart. 1-888-STG-GEAR

Hey me and Johnny was wondering if you were adding one of those Ducati 1098 style quick shifters . By the way sold the ZX10 also.
I'm getting my 08 CBR600RR track ready for Barber in March. Have a set of track plastics on order to mount , not looking forward to this, 1st time. Going to do a home rattle can paint job and mount some Vortex frame Sliders. And flush coolant & replace w/Liquid Ice/ Water Wetter.
+1 on the Elka Shock I bought one from STG last year and it is AWESOME. I'm getting great tire wear and great feel from the rear.
