https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZDbPaWCvtg What the heck is this guy doing? Its insanity! After doing some research, it looks like this particular track day org had some amazing failures that day. Somehow, this guy was in lvl 2 (i group to STT folks) had not been through tech- and had a "down to the belt" front tire, didnt know about classroom instruction, and the coach did not pull him when he should have. Any time I think about tracking with another org, i watch one of these videos and it reminds me how awesome we have it with STT. :thumb:
The videographer was brave staying behind that guy. I would've pulled as far away from him as possible!
wow I have a friend that rides in almost no couch riding groups. scarry shit. Also happens to be in Texas. He's ridden 5 ish track days 2 crashes
look at how many times he almost loses it! I have to wonder if he was scared crapless the entire time or he was rolling around like "yea...yea! this feels about right!" It does kind of make me want one of those bikes, as it is apparently impossible to wreck it.
Also, for the record, it looks like the Org he was riding with has now taken great steps to make sure this kind of thing never happens again. I guess it only takes one to slip through the cracks....
Yes and no. The corner worker's job is to ensure the safety of all riders and if they see something they don't like they should throw the flag. That being said, they are not there to evaluate riding ability. The guy with the orange vest on IS there to look at riders' ability and he SHOULD have taken steps to get that guy under control.
