I'm running M4 full race, sometimes I regret it. It is obnoxiously loud, but so far I haven't had any issues. I am curious what the dBs are though.
My Gosh this track looks amazing! A 4000' straightaway??!! Move over Ianone someone's gonna break that 218! The mugello straight is like 3,800 ft if that puts it in perspective lol:wheel:
I'm curios as to what layout the motorcycles will run? Do you have any idea since you signed up for October?
The Grand Max Straight layout also has the long straight. The Full course layout only has a 2300' straight. I suspect this will be the layout the motorcycles will run.
i wouldn't want to do the track with 4k straight.. it would be boring, at least it has curves unlike road america lol
When I asked, they told me.... "We will be running the Grand Full configuration with the Playstation Chicane."
Yep that's what I figured.. Definitely the best motorcycle layout... 2300 foot straight still not too shabby, especially with what appears to be more of a kink than a hard right onto the straight
grattans front straight is 3600 feet and we all like it. what is another 400 feet? i am curious to see the running directions and run off, after the guard rails, walls ect... go in. scared there might not be enough run off for bike safety. Ski
Always an issue which they proved in GA. However I think these guys get it. http://www.motorsportspark.org/beta/facility/track-map/ Check all the maps which show the traps. From what I can tell there is either a trap or the alternate track is on the outside (like coming onto the front straight in the Corvette Loop). I assume the direction is only toward the chicane on the front straight as like Barber the reverse would be wildly dangerous. Also the best option IMO is the Grand Full which has a shorter straight than Grattan. Second best would be Grand Max which is likely the same as Grattan once you subtract the Chicane with a slower end turn though maybe a quicker entry. So about the same as Grattan though I am unsure of NCM's elevation (my guess is not a lot as the area they built in is fairly flat)
This has been mentioned to them and they responded that they took motorcycle safety into consideration. I also seem to remember reading that they are looking into deploying soft air barriers.
