Just watched some of the videos and have to agree. Some of the passing is just plain insane, not to mention horribly breaking the 6ft passing rule.

Has STT considered a no inside passing rule for I? It's not racing, not even sure why it's necessary. Although, I've only ridden "N" so there may be reasons that the newbs aren't aware of.

This was my first time at Grattan and also first weekend in "I" group. Some of the passing may have been a little within 6', but I have to say almost everyone who passed me did it smoothly without upsetting my line or making me nervous. Most of my nervous moments were by my own doing at not anyone elses. I was quite impressed by some of the passes riders made around me.

Most of my passing was done in the straights or just on the exits of turns and not through the turns, although I did make a few miscalculations.

As I gain more experience and up my pace I beleive setting up and passing in turns will become easier. Eventually, with enough experience I would guess that it starts to become natural just like passing in a straight.

Thanks! Road group 6 :/ Wanted to ride group 3 but so did everyone else :pound:

Next time I'm sitting right up front so there is no way Kozy misses the hand.

Glad to hear you had a good experience. Didn't even watch your video until just now and wow that was close. Looks like the guy you were trying to pass decided to speed up his pace and you weren't expecting it. Good save though. I'm sure it wasn't nearly as bad as it looked, that camera has quite a bit of distortion.

My buddy went into "I" on Sunday for the first time after doing 4 track days and the last 2 were group 1 ... He said he was ok with the "I" pace but it was a little more than he was used to but he was great after lunch.
I played camera man all day Sunday, Loved it!

I found it really interesting to see the speedo increase a few mph under hard braking especially at the end of the front straight.

Glad you're ok! What caused that? I was surprised, coming around 9, just how far away your bike was from where you landed.

I really think the cars dropped some fluids on the track before our weekend there. It didn't rain between our trackday and the cars days. There were a lot of bikes spinning their rears this weekend.

There was a definite improvement to the track on Sunday.

All the :getdown::getdown: must have went home!

only time the track was iffy was the second session after that keep that chit pinned to the stop :) the outside entrance to the bowl will always be slippery as thats where the marbles go and frankly its off line. middle to inside of that last part heading into it is primo, i'll occasionally go for an outside/inside pass out there, but i will NOT be greedy with the throttle (learned that one from Joey Pascarella) Eric Cell is a very good person to chat with about where to go and where not to go on that track, he's got alot of laps around there, Dave Grey would be a great source as well

Saw you back on the track. I give you props for jumping back in that same day :thumb:!

Yeah, I suppose with time I will better learn to deal with the track. My V-twin is really touchy to poor throttle inputs so I'm sure Sunday being better was more of me being better on my throttle. :wheel:

I know I wasn't taking the best of lines on my own. Steve towed me around and we went a much faster pace then I had been able to all day in the same track conditions. I don't quite have the balls yet to keep my animal pinned to the stop!

I didn't have any problems with traction on either day but I also don't typically ride 9 or 10 AM sessions. You and Big country are also were playing with a lot more horsepower than I am.
