So what's the deal with Atlanta Motorsports Park, is it not available yet or is it sold out? Does anyone know?

STT will NOT be running there, and i doubt any other MC org. will either. the track is not motorcycle safe.

NESBA has also stated that they will not run there unless there are safety improvements made to insure that the track is motorcycle safe.

If everybody stands together, it might make AMP think about making a few improvements..

Unless they remove their 1800 Foot 400K Fence back 30-40 feet I see no bikes going through here... There is 15 feet between the track and tires... And they told us they are putting in another tIre wall which would make it 11 Feet...

that's a damn shame...looks like a great track otherwise. they'll ultimately regret leaving us out of the picture when business slows down after the newness wears off.

damn car guys hoggin' all the fun.

I didn't think tracks were still built without run off! Seems like '60/'70's design.

60 mph = 88 feet per second. Marc said there is about 15 to the tire wall. too close for any speed IMO. ive seen guys run off slow corners way faster than 60 mph

Could be the local HOG chapter.....they don't go fast enough to think that it's unsafe.

That's what I was thinking. I mean, even the car guys shouldn't like this. If I had a Lambo I would track it at a place with runoff so a measly 20 foot trip into the grass doesn't end 5 feet deep in a wall.

for cars from what i have been told they prefer walls close, as the car is less likely to flip, where the wall will do just bodywork damage

    Not sure, just heard that

Barber exhales a giant sigh of relief. Little to no chance of AMP poaching their target audience.

Don't know either. I've never driven a car on a track but my first thought is I would rather have the run off space and maybe just lose a front spoiler than hit the wall FOR SURE and tear up all kinds of stuff. If any street exotic slides down that wall you can kiss $30,000 goodbye in a millisecond. i don't think there is any such thing as just bodywork damage on these lightweight exotics anymore. A runaway shopping cart probably calls for a complete door replacement. I'd take my chances in the run out area.
