Here is STT's stance. We are NOT a business that "certifies" whether a track is safe or not. We are not in the business of bad mouthing other companies or people. Any person found doing so under my ownership will no longer be a part of STT. That's not what we are about. We simply do what we feel is in the best regard for our customers and ethical in business. That may or may not be what another companies or people feel. I respect that 100%. I have had the conversations with the appropriate people at AMP and we have come to a reasonable conclusion between the two companies to move on. Let's all move on. IF STT is going to AMP we will work that out between the two companies (that's what we do) and it will appear on our schedule in the usual way. Until then I'm sorry we are not. I wish everyone at AMP and the people who ride there nothing but safety, happiness and great times on and off the track. Richard
What's all the fuss? Check out the rider's who race @ Macau or TIOM TT mate ! Armco is the norm in Macau and good old English village and countryside stone walls @ the isle also plenty of runoff up on the mountain. Makes a man out of ye ! Make a soujourn to Jennings next Dec. plenty o' runoff there fer ye laddie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And just to be clear: Sportbike Track Time will not be running track days at Macau or the Isle of Mann..... best, t
http://youtu.be/RwW1hf1W-L0 Just something i threw together real quick. Please excuse the terrible lines and lack of speed through some sections. It was in the 20's during the a.m., and we were obviously the only bikes there. The track is very technical.
Cool vid. Having the opportunity to ride a track like that alone is wonderful.... and obviously, the safety concerns are completely different in that circumstance vs. sending out a group of 30 some odd riders at a trackday. t
I understand why STT will never run there, but compared to all the other roads that i do this on, AMP is the safest by far. If there were cars driving around the track in the opposite direction, the guardrails were only 2 feet from the track, they planted giant oak trees, telephone poles, road signs on the coping, bicyclists riding around randomly (three wide in some areas), 1,000'cliffs in some of the turns, dead animals everywhere, oil and gravel sprinkled all over the place, and move the whole thing out into the middle of nowhere with no cell service and the closest ambulance is 45 minutes away.------- Then it would be just another saturday for me
hate to critique but, the wheelies, and rear brake useage has to go. "especially" at the track. come to an STT event at barber, learn body position, track lines, braking, and the speed and fun will be off the charts. Ski
I ran with you guys at Barber. (I am on the orange Z1000) My buddy Blake (red FZ6) has never been on a track before. His body position sucks, and i agree 100% about the rear brake, but all in all i think he did AWESOME for his first time. I have some serious work to do on my lines as well as increasing my corner speed. I started a thread on here asking for an STT coach or advanced rider to join me for the day at no expense, but nobody would come. I hope i can join you guys for some more track days next year. I am working on getting a track bike. I love my Z1000, but I am getting waaaay off the bike and still dragging pegs. (I have several pictures where my knee and footpeg are both down.) As far as the wheelies go, there were just two bikes on the track and i like to wheelie - so why not. lol. But yes, criticism accepted, I have a lot to learn and several bad street habits to break.
Could you guys take a look at the chattering that occurs just after 1:30 in the video? Is this something thats coming from the track? or am i downshifting too aggressively? It was only happening in this one corner, and I have never felt anything like that before. I ride hard every weekend, it just seems like if it were something i was doing - i would have felt the chattering before. THX
