I know it's a bit early but wondering if anyone else is going? I'll be there Saturday and hopefully if my wallet allows Sunday too. I'm looking for someone to help tow me around running around mid 1:40s to high 1:40s to improve. Thanks in advance.
I will see you there on Saturday and Sunday if you make that happen. While I have a hand full of laps in the upper 1:40's i find it difficult to turn those times consistantly with the amount of traffic on the track in Intermediate. We will see this August though, I have to have a worry free weekend there to finish out my year since my last visit to Barber ended with a broken collar bone.
Thanks. Looking forward to riding with you. I've always been looking for someone to ride with and pace myself. I usually just find someone fast at the track and jump behind them and to get a tow even though I didn't know them. :lmao:
Alex my wife and I will be there in Aug. I got the bump to I so I will be looking for a tow around Barber. Look forwrd to seeing you again. Stu
Congrats on the bump to I. It will be fun riding with you there. Definitely will be there SAT. Are you bringing your kids? I will let my son know his pit friends will be there if so.
Congrats on the bump to "I" Stu. I will be there on the 23rd. Let me know and I can give you a tow around. Been running about the same times as above...avg 1:47. My buddy Eric will be with me and it will be his first time at Barber and in "I" group.
Add me to the list of first timers in I at Barber(I'll be there on Sat). Just got the bump my last ride at NOLA. Unless I can get my SV track bike put back together by then, I'll be riding my Monster. Either way, I doubt I'll be "towing" anybody doing 1:40's...see y'all there!
I'm in, this will also be my first time at Barber and was thinking of bumping down to Novice but it looks like I want be the only first timer in I there. We have a few Cajuns headed that way.
If you can handle NOLA, you'll be OK at Barber. The main differences are the elevation changes and inability to see all the way through some of the corners. I still get nervous climbing the hill between 3 and 4 until I see the clock tower.
The ideal situation, if you are riding both days would be to sign up Novice on Sat. to learn the track somewhat, and then do I group on Sunday. The elevation changes and blind corners can take some getting use to.
I have missed track days this year. no job sucks. I know I am fortunate, in that I can pay all my monthly utilities etc, but I miss the extra money, for track days. the job market seems to be picking up, so hopefully see you all next year.
Sorry to hear that Randy. I do know the feeling. It took we a little while to find something after I retired from USAF. I'm sure something will come open soon. Look forward to seeing you at the track again soon. I'll be at Road Atlanta on the 16th if you get a chance to come out.
thanks Jack I might do that. Luckily my dual sport is paid for, and riding the fire roads in N GA is pretty cheap. So for now I can still do that. If I do not find something by end of August that will be put on hold as well. So far I have not had to sell any bikes, but by Nov that may have to change.
