I'm going to try. It will be my first time at Barber, too. I hope it won't be "TOO" hot. I haven't done a trackday since Putnam 2011. I'll know more after this weekend. Novice rules!
Hello all! I will be doing my very first track day on Sunday. I will have my buddy with me, who rode Jennings once, in the rain. So we are not experienced with track riding. But I am looking forward to meeting everyone, and also looking to do many more track days with you guys. We both ride GSXR 600's. He rides a black and grey 2006, and I have a red and white 2007. We will have both bikes in the bed of my four door silver Tacoma. We would love to meet as many people as possible and start to tap into your knowledge and gain as much experience as possible. Looking forward to meeting everyone in a couple of weeks!
I'll be there Sunday for my 2nd track day, 1st time at Barbers. Welcome to what will be your new addiction superblackz. I also ride a k7 GSXR 600. Everyone I met at little Tally a couple of weeks ago were great people. You will have a blast, just bring plenty of cold water to drink.
We are going to bring a large cooler of water and Gatorade. I've lived in Alabama all my life. And no one can get used to this heat, especially with full leathers on!
I have migrated to AC being old but get a cheap towel and toss it in the cooler. When you come in drape it over your head or shoulders. Wet or dry the cold is wonderful. Likely helps drop core temps some also.
I am not sure what I am going to tell the "old lady"???? You know that I have to be 'allowed' to go to the track for a whole weekend. Also, that she hardly ever 'lets me' go to the track for two back to back weekends. I had better not mention the fact that I need new tires! She might go all Lorena Bobbitt on me? It is a hard knock life 'havin' to ride two weekends in a row, Road Atlanta straight to Barber...
