I thought about that after I posted. I know the STT guys would rather have more spots filled, I just wanted to make sure that wasn't frowned upon or anything like that. Nice to know there are other track junkies close by. Which day are you going Jbz1k? I usually go on Sundays.
Going both days. This is my first time out with STT so I'm not sure of the pace of each group but I bet if your cool with their rules in novice you would enjoy it.
As long as you play by the rules of Novice class, we have no problem with you riding Novice. Please know that the rules are strictly enforced for the safety of all!
Novice is faster than you think, its slow in the morning but in the afternon, hold on. The Novice program is exceptional! see everyone this weekend. -Carbonization
On the "FACTS" thread, one of the rules was no glass containers in the paddock. Is the boil in the paddock or in a separate camping area? Spotted Cow only comes in bottles. I can bring can beer but it won't be Spotted Cow. I ask because at Road America the camp ground is the paddock at a track day.
som bike parts f/s real cheap hey guys im trying to thumb my way to barber... needs some cash so I got some freshly painted bodywork for sale. :lmao: I think it fits a 2009 gsxr 100:fencing:0 but I dont care if you put it on a yamaha. any takers. ha how bout it. bet I get someone all in a uproar. :lmao: almost time.lol :fencing:
:amen: I suggest either the Knox Aegis back and Sport chest combo...or the Knox Gilet Vest (with back and chest protectors built-in).
:thumb: The Novice program starts off getting everyone comfortable while working on fundamentals and speed increases throughout the day (as does comfort and confidence). By the afternoon, people are moving down the track pretty good, even the people new to the track.
So I tried to get a Held suit brought down from Stg and was told they don't plan on vending at Barber this weekend. No big I'm just going to buy a chest protector somewhere and worry about the suit next time. Is the absence of a vendor normal with STT though?
I really didn't want to buy armor if I'm getting a suit that has level 2 back protection and various other armor incorporated. Just buying stuff to craigslist later.
To be honest, the absence of a vendor is normal at every track event I have ever attended (and I have ridden with several orgs). I can honestly say that I have never been to a track day, regardless of org, and seen a vendor who was selling suits etc. Sometimes a vendor will be at WERA races selling suits, but even that isn't a guarantee. There has been a tire vendor at every track day I have attended (regardless of org)...but the tire manufacturer varied. In other words, they may not carry the brand you personally use. Sometimes the TD org will have a few things available like gloves or back protectors or random "little" things like lap timers or knee pucks. But typically speaking, it is better to bring everything you know you will need with you.
