What about the compressor that is part of the combo for a jump box would you consider one of those? thats what i use and it has 12volt outlet for phone car charger along with a usb port and LED light.

If anyone has ever borrowed a tool from Massara, he has the perfect universal tool in the second drawer of his toolbox.... just ask him!

I guess I never thought of repairing something vs replacing. You do bring up a good point. The one time I low sided, my day was over. I had the levers, footpeg and bars for replacement. But the left side rearset bracket was broken. Just packed up and went home. However on reflection, I guess JB weld would have easily "repaired" the bracket and most likely I could have finished the day. Interestingly enough I have plastic repair and JB Weld at my home shop. Just never considered adding it to my track day tool kit.

Myself I don't think I would consider JB Weld on a rearset bracket safe. Think of how much weight you put on the peg and what would happen if it broke mid-corner. Your foot could easily get run over by your own rear tire plus you could be throwing a large chunk of metal at the bike behind you. I always try to keep in mind those around me as well as myself when considering any type of expedient repair.

Add to that list of supplies:
    - quart of oil... you just never know
    - plastic cleaner for faceshields and bodywork
    - rags and paper towels
    - small flashlight.

A great habit to get into is cleaning your bike every night or morning. It not only makes your bike look good, but it forces you to put hands on most components on the bike and you will notice things that are out of place, loose, missing, etc.

good point, so what would someone use JB Weld for at a track day? I was just thinking about the post above were they noted JB Weld and duct tape. At first I was thinking I could see JB Weld, but now you pointed out the error of that thinking. In general if I cannot replace my day is over. I know one person lowsided, and the only item he could not replace was his rear spool. My rear stand was double sided, i.e. spool on one side and generic lift point on other, so I let him use mine. Maybe JB Weld for something like that. only use would be in pit area?

It could be used to repair a SMALL hole in a waterpump or engine case...:thumb: For temporary purposes only.... It s best for leak repair than strength repair IMO...:thumb:

I have seen JB weld used in an overnight repair involving a case cover and a coke can to retain fluid because a replacement was not available.

while not optimal, it held oil all weekend and saved the day on a 1000 mile trip. Its just a good thing to have around for tabs that break and little things here and there.
