You don't need to waste money on race tires. Race tires and tire warmers aren't needed until you get into a decent Advanced pace. You can use many great street tires to get you well into the "A" group. If you like Dunlop, check out the new Q3 tires, the reviews have been EXCELLENT. Michelin's new Pilot Power 3 would be another good choice for you Pirelli's Diablo Rosso Corsa is also a fantastic tire. There are plenty of great street tires out there, get a set of those and save your money.
I bought them because I could pay for them. On my previous R1 I had some take off's from an AMA team VST and I loved them. A couple guys have these on their street bikes and we go to the back roads in here and they are excellent too. Anyway you guys may be right about me wasting my money or not because the price difference was only $40.00 last year!
and yes those tires may be overkill in novice but if a 600 can take u into advance then i guess youre r6 is overkill as well and all novice guys should ride 250's .. put whatever brand, model, and size tire on your bike that makes u feel more comfortable in riding
it really is though ... if i had the money to buy one i wouldnt mind trying it out http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz03sQeX02c
at gateway yesterday, big st charles motorsports(an MCRA sponsor) was selling q2's 50% off and q3's 30% off ... wish i had some dough for the 3's
The 2013 ZX10R makes 197HP stock, a BMW 1000RR has 193HP stock. Thats the numbers I based my statement on. WSBK make way over 200HP this days! As a matter of fact they have more horsepower then the CRT bikes at the MotoGP due to the fact that the engines do not need to last as long.
Horsepower at the crank or the wheel? I think horsepower at the wheel would be more relevant to tire size.
Focus on charging into corners . Forget about knee on the ground . Its nowhere near good indicator of your speed.
they mean an indicator of lean .. i do it to see how far im leaned .. ive learned my point where im leaned over far enough to feel some slipping based on where my knee is relative to the tank when touching the ground .. ive always run michelins so the lean angle is pretty much the same although im getting a little more outa my 190 compared to my 180 before but the faster i go the more i lean .. in novice ive put knee down at 95 on my r6 .. it feels comfortable to knee to do it and for a good reason when my back wheel spun out at turn 7 at heartland park w/ my knee down and i felt more weight put on my knee til i caught traction again .. i believed my knee saved it

I use a 180 rear Michelin ppr and have used PP3 great tire for Street and Track. Better to warm up self and tires on first laps with no warmers it works for me.. Lines, Lines ,Lines ...Tires , brakes, suspension, lines, lines, lines, I really don't think about speed well when Zepp flys by me or David goes by on one wheel............:thumb: Oh I never buy Pucks...
