This will be my first time to ride Barber! I can't wait to meet some new folks and finally ride with STT. I've heard many good things. Hopefully we can share some stories and get to know each other a bit on Saturday night. I'll be driving in that day and riding Sunday. I usually ride in the advanced groups with other orgs. This being my first time with STT, that option was not available to me. I would like to be evaluated early on to see if they are comfortable with me bumping up that day. Is there a good way to do that in the morning?
Just grab a CR in intermediate and ask him for an evaluation. Personally, I'd take a session or 2 to get to know the track first. :rawk: And if you don't know, in Alabama on Sundays there's a mandatory quiet time from 11-12. That means there will be 2 sessions then a lunch break and 5 sessions after lunch.
Good to know. Yeah, I was going to take a warm-up session to get to know the track and then grab a CR. I'm just not familiar exactly how to grab a CR. Do they wait in the staging area before the session starts? Do I need to find them in the paddock?
This.. They will also introduce the coaches at the riders meeting beforehand, so remember the coaches names for Int and grab one on the grid before going out. I understand that you may normally ride in A with other orgs; however, with this being your first time at Barber, it would definitely be to your benefit to take a few sessions and learn the track rather than worrying about bumping up to A. I would also suggest watching some good videos on youtube to help get the general idea of race line, etc before coming out. See you there! :thumb:
Can't wait, been doing track days for quite a few years now but this will be my first time on a motard, we will see how that goes...
Can't freakin wait! My wife and I will be there Sat and Sun and then on to TALLY for the women's only day. That will be my 17 year old daughters first ever track day on her new CBR250! Should be quite an awesome weekend!
Peggy and I are looking forward to seeing you guys again. Great news about your daughter's first ever track day! You realize you are starting a family addiction!
