Charlie, PM me if there are tech issues you need help with on your bike before Saturday. I might be able to help.
I'm going to see if I can make both days. A buddy wants to hit up Road America but Grattan is way close and cheaper too. I realize there is likely no comparison but I did really enjoy Grattan last time. Later Steve
Word, well right now its all beer brewing supplies coming in she's not too happy about, but she loves the beer, so that works out in the end.
Yippee I'm in for Sat for sure and maybe Sunday too. Can't wait it's been two years. Btw I've got a couple of tires for sale if anybody wants one delivered to the track. http://www.sttforum.com/sttforum/viewtopic.php?t=7686 Later Steve
What do you got to be spooked about?? Now myself on the other hand.... Put it this way if I end up in the weeds again I'm going to paint my bike green and rename it Lawnboy :x . Later Steve
I'll be there, floggin' the Buell since the GSX-R is in ICU, riding swooping lines so Eddie can get by & get gone that much easier.
thinking about coming to ride this weekend. my rear tire is down into the wear indicators in the center, sides are good. will this pass tech for novice class ? the tires only have 2k miles on them, so it's not like there old tires.... my new ones won't be here till monday. thx,
from the tech requirements on sportbiketracktime.com: 2) Tires and brakes must be in good condition. Tires should be at least 50%+ of new condition. Any tires that are bluing from excessive wear will be disallowed. We will have on site tire service at most events, so if your tires don't pass, you may have the opportunity to put on replacement tires to pass tech. Please contact us to confirm tire service will be available at your event. my opinion: get new tires at the track. if they don't have tire service, explain that at tech and ride on what you have since it's novice group.
Does Grattan have a ditch or something I could easily get my bike out of a truck with? I have a ditch at home I can get it in with, but getting it out is another question all together. Im debating just buying some alum folding ramps, but its not my truck, so I'd rather save the $120
yes two options: 1) there is a railroad tie stacked ledge that people use for this. 2) or you just stand up in your truck in the paddock, exclaim loudly....'well here goes nothing' and people will come running with ramps and extra hands. (hint...choose #2...it's easier)
Ill take your advice and go with 2! I assumed there was some sort of facility to accomplish getting my bike off the truck, but I'd rather be safe and prepared.
Dice, well, I'll see ya'll this weekend! Just finishing up some last minute things on my bike tonight and packing it up. Finally relaxing about my bike and passing tech, that's a recurring nightmare, for no reason.
I'll be there, I couldn't register beforehand though... wasn't sure how things were going to shake out this weekend. Hopefully there will be a spot left. Bringing my 5 week old out for his first track day
