Charlie, you should have let me known...I have an empty spot on my trailer this weekend. Oh well, maybe next time! See ya there!
I have a wide 3-piece ramp that you're more than welcome to use. Charcoal grey GMC 2500HD with a white Buell 1125R, somewhere just West of the tech shed. Stop by on your way in & we'll get it unloaded & you'll be right there for tech inspection.
Great time Sunday. I finally got the 1098 below 1:30 laps. Still need to get my head out of my arse and trust the tires a little more though. And for those who may be curious, those laps were without the training wheels.
Good time this weekend. Lots of crashes Sunday in the A group however. Not sure what the cause was. There was certainly a wide spread of speed in the group, which led me to believe some people should have perhaps been in the I group instead. I actually went out once in the I group because it was less crowded than the A group.
I thought that the A group seemed a little relaxed on Sunday. Lots of long freight trains, with almost no passing.
Ya it seemed like a little bit of a crashfest but I thought it was in all the groups not just advanced. I did manage to keep it upright and overall had a really good time. Great to meet everybody Jesse and Kim nice talking to you Sat night, Kirk and Jack thanks for showing me the lines, it helped as I did manage to break into the sub 1:30 group with a 1:29:74 Josh your vids on youtube, 2Big4Bike I've got a couple of seconds of vid right as your about to leave the track, no actual crash footage but you can tell its not going to end well. Pm me if you want it or I can put it up on youtube. Also nice to see some other above average size riders hauling azz. Later Steve
Josh here's the on track vid that I have of you. Looking good I'm impressed with the lean angles you get. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jurk8sM_u1I In the vid if you look close at the tach you can see the reflection of my helmet, kind of interesting to see how I look into the corners. Later Steve
Thanks, Steve!!! It was great meeting you. I'm glad we got to pit next to each other, I had a lot of fun. Great videos by the way! I'll keep in touch so we can do it all again someday.
Nice example of Eddie getting by & getting gone towards the end. Any chance you caught anything with the white 1125R on Saturday?
There were a few the had "diversed" speeds in A group on Sunday. I guess one of those instructor people could have said something.....
There are always "a few the had 'diversed' speeds". You have to keep in mind that there are ppl. who moved up to Advanced 5 years ago riding alongside ppl. who moved up to Advanced the day prior. I was out in Advanced for 3 or 4 sessions yesterday, sans vest since I was coaching Intermediate. I had no trouble passing anybody, and as I recall, neither did you. Slower riders are one thing. Riders who can't hold a line are another, and that's one of the things we look out for most in 'A' group. Yesterday *may* have had some slower riders, but none who were making it difficult to execute a safe pass in a timely fashion...
Dj what's your bike look like from behind?? Ya it was nice of Eddie to show me the line thru corner #4 and how to pass over the jump  Later Steve
Hey Steve, great to meet you and Tracy (I believe - I'm terrible with names). Glad you had a good time despite the wet weather. And Adam, I see you're coming to terms with that sweet Duc - and keep an eye out for those warmers will ya!
If it was bad I could have said something too. I'm only thinking of 1 person, the line was fine, but the closing speeds concerned me. I didn't have any yesterday, but I have had "oh shit" moments as a result of passing someone that is running my pace and realizing that I'm going to have to pass this person too now whether there is room or not. I admit any fault of my own in such situations, but it's hard to expect that speck half way down the front straight to be right in front of you into 1. HP wasn't the issue, I was just grabbing 6th when he was grabbing that lever on the right.
