Thanks for the hotel info Jon. I sure hope they don't change directions. I don't want to spend all day Saturday learning the track, only to have to go backwards and do it all over again Sunday. Not to mention that I want to get 2 days on the track in the "normal" direction that the run during races. If the track is run 1 direction Saturday and the opposite on Sunday, I probably won't go.
Wellillbedamned. Didn't know that. I would still rather run it in the same direction both days, at least this weekend. I struggle at learning new tracks. It will probably be Sunday afternoon before I stop getting lapped. ...and that is if we run the same direction both days. I understand the weekends schedule isn't dictated by my suckiness at learning new tracks, im just sayin;.
You'll have a blast there either way. I haven't seen anything on STT's site about CCW yet, and usually they establish that by now. Could be wrong... I'm a newb. There will be a gaggle of SV's in the A group both days... I know that for sure! -Jon
If the Weather permits 3 A riders, 2 I riders. For both days ofcourse. We pit down at the bottom right near the track entry. We will bring enough wood for friday and saturday night Bonfires!
weather is looking good if a little chilly in the morning. can't wait....guess it's time to register.....
We'll have a decent group staying at the Candlestone Friday and Saturday night. Come down to the bar and have a cold one if you're staying there. Weather is looking better by the minute! Can't wait. -Jongo
In for Saturday. First time riding clockwise, first time in intermediate group. Looking forward to a good time.
Saturday Got sick of watching weather.com and booked for Saturday...fingers crossed..... Entered "I" and hoping to bump up to ride "A" in the afternoon if the day goes as planned and the Instructors OK it.. .. Fitted a Bazzaz Quick shifter yesterday, seemed to work OK in the sub-division at 4k rpm, am sure it will feel even better at 14k... See you Saturday... later
In for my 2nd and possibly 3rd track day! Novice of course. You can tell I am addicted though. Drove to Atlanta Monday (11 Hours) and home with a new to me "07" GSXR 600 track bike Tuesday (12.5 hours) to have it for this weekend! The bike has tires on it that need warmers  Don't know what to think of that. I need to find a set before Saturday or try to beg borrow or steal some from someone at the track. Any ideas? Would anyone be willing to let me borrow or rent their extra set? May need to buy a set of tires that don't need warmers until I can get all of my Shi# together. Bikes, Tires, Track Days, Gas, Leathers, Boots, Gloves, and BEER (for after the last session 8) ) all adds up! I completely forgot to order warmers in time to get them for this weekend  Stupid rookie mistake! Is there a helpful person out there to help a newbie out?
warmers Of you decide to do anything it would be cheaper and easier to have the tire guy throw on a set of power pures that don't need warmers and would be more than enough tire for next year....tire warmers and the stands etc are a lot of hassle untill you really need the pace of race tires. I have BT003s and no warmers so need to take it easy for a lap or two. Should not be an issue for you in the Novice group... my $0.02 later PS Congrats on the new bike......
