Sure.... In the Parking lot....:thumb: Seriously Neville for Intermediate you cant expect to get a spot unless you sign up WAY in Advance.... I would look at dates down the Road now...:thumb: Especially if you want a October spot which is our most popular weekend...

Quick question for the advanced riders, what are the average times your running in the A group? Just curious.

There is a wide range within advanced. David Grey and the like are probably well below 1:34. There are often bikes running 1:45's in A as well. As long as you are smooth and can maintain your line while being passed you should be fine.

Thanks. I was able to run a 1:45 this weekend in I and was curious. I'll probably stick to I for a while and work on my lines before I think about moving up to A. I may even do a race school before as well.

I totally understand wanting to hang in intermediate. If you feel you were running comfortable 45's and being consistent, you should be ok in advanced. If you feel like you are absolutely at your limit doing 45's then do a day or 2 more in I and work with a coach. They will give you honest feedback on what to do. Disalvo school is also an excellent suggestion.

That session that I went out, I was the 4th bike in line at pit out so when we entered the track I was able to pass the first three bikes by T7 I believe and went from there. Lap 2 I did a 1:49 then, 1:47 then, 1:46 and finally 1:45. I didn't get passed until a CR flew by me but then I got off the track because I was getting fatigued. It was already after 2 and I had been going out all day but I felt better each lap out. One of the CR's towed me around for about a lap and a half and I really concentrated on my lines which helped me a lot especially with corner entry and position.
After looking at my gopro videos, I see that I brake way too early going into turns especially on the front straight but I'm able to maintain speed thru the turn and get a good line coming out of turns. This was only my second day at Barber and my second time running intermediate. I have 5 more days there this season so I'll see how I do next month and go from there.

I'll be there in April in Intermediate running about that pace. I was in the mid 1:40s on my last year there with some street tires on my old bike, before I took a race school. I'm much faster at the other tracks this year now but I haven't been to Barber this year. I've been contemplating asking to move up to Advanced myself. At 1:45, you'll be passing some people in Intermediate at a very high speed difference and probably run into some trouble getting a clean lap in. I guess the same could be said for Advanced guys running 1:30s vs. 1:40s though. I've done Advanced with another group last month at Jennings and the close passing really wasn't that scary. In fact, I felt safer out there than I did in Intermediate. There were a lot less interpretations of what the race line is in Advanced.

Here is the advice I was given for my first outing in Advanced. The CR picked out a couple of people running my pace in Advanced and introduced me to them. I was told to follow them around for awhile to get used to things before I went out on my own. That gave me time to get used to getting passed rather than only passing others. For me, it only took 1 session to get completely comfortable with it. It was just a bit different moving from being the fastest in I group to being one of the slower in A. But I learned a lot more, that's for sure. There was no beacon out that day but I felt like I picked up a lot of time and I felt safer out there, even being at a faster pace with close passes.

I'm signed up for I because I signed up months ago before I tried Advanced out, but I was planning on asking a CR to follow me around and see if I could move into A group. But if a 1:45 is an acceptable, I know I can run at least that pace, I'm definitely consistent, and I'm comfortable in advanced group on Jennings. Basically, if there is a spot open in Advanced, I would like to move up to Advanced, then you could take my Intermediate spot. I'd like to get the exposure to Advanced on Barber before I go out for the WERA race in May there. Not sure how to make that happen though. Can I have my spot changed and then you can buy the Intermediate spot? I'm currently signed up for the weekend, in I group.

Yes. I'm currently signed up for I for Sat. and Sun., but if someone can change mine to Advanced for both days, then that Sat. spot can be all yours.

Just give them a call at the 888 number and switch your group. Also tell them that Biggs wants to buy your old I spot(if he does). They can take care of it I'm sure.

Alright, I'll give them a call after my morning meeting. I'll shoot you (Biggsrr07) a PM when I hear back so you can get the spot.
