Is it me or did you stay in 3rd gear throughout the entire track?

Except for a few corners on south where I had to use 2nd. I shift as little as possible because I've viewed it as a distraction to the things I understand less than going up and down through the gears.

Do you have this full session? That's me directly in front of you just as this video starts. I'd love to go back and bit and see myself, if you have that clip.

Here is a link to that full session. You may also be in the video I posted a couple pages back if you haven't already checked that one.

    Pictures and Video

Does anyone have pictures or video of the novice group on May 24th? If so please post or tell me where I can find them. It was my first track day, I did horrible but I still would like to see the others in my group that advanced quickly!!

Yea, dont get down on yourself! If you had fun, then you did EXACTLY what you paid to do. Who cares how fast you were? Not me, and not anyone else i bet. All that matters is that you had a big stupid grin on your face! Thats what track days are for!

I too hope the pictures are up soon. You're going to love em! I still have my pic from my first day framed and hanging up. Still looks awesome!

My thoughts exactly. If you leave the track with yourself in one piece, the bike mostly in one piece, and better riding skills than before, you "win". Going fast is fun but to me it's more fun getting better each time, hitting the lines, and being consistent.

I don't want to turn this into a broken record, but I totally agree. After my first time on the track last year I was disappointed at how slow I was - (part of that was the bike I had at the time). This time being only my 2nd, I was much more relaxed; was able to enjoy the day and improve on my skills. Can't wait to get out there again - hope to see you there!

going fast is just over rated,
    especially at a race track..lol
i think we all have been in ur shoes.
going fast should be the last of ur worries.
next time get a coach to follow u for a lap or 2, and ask him about ur body position, ur lines etc..
once u get that figured out. u will naturally start seeing ur speed increasing.
besides this is a track day, not race day.

You guys are just bitter cause I won.
But seriously, it's all about having fun.
If you worry too much about going fast, you won't have as much fun.
    Relax, breathe, flow.
