I will be out coaching one on one for the pro-school, and I'll be hanging the weekend to race with Rick in the old guys race for sure!!.......:thumb:
I was considering taking a shot at the over 40 class this year thinking it would be a bunch of OLD FAT SLOW guys. Great place to do my first race.... after reading this I'm thinking not so much!!! Lol... I can't make the first May weekend anyway. Guess I better get to the gym and also figure out where I can gain 3 more seconds at Grattan so I can at least have a chance!
Does Team Chicago have a website? I cannot find anything but dead links and outdated information on them.
I'm old, not fat, and kinda slow.......you should do it this year....we'll have a blast.......:thumb:
You are NOT kinda slow.... Think I might still give it a go. Won't be until the August date though. I'll expect some good race coaching from you fast guys before that! Still wish they had an over 45 FAT GUY NEVER RACED BEFORE CLASS! I might do ok there... :first:
I resemble a few of the remarks, if not all of them. If you think you want to try racing, I say do it. It doesn't matter if you do well or not as long as you HAVE FUN. The longer you wait (or put it off) the closer you come to never doing it. Trust me it will not be easier next year.
Timmy and all you other guys looking for that 2 or 3 seconds. All I can say is go racing and I'd be shocked if you didn't drop a couple of seconds off your laps times. I dropped 3-4 my first race weekend at Grattan, 1:29's to 1:25's. On top of that most days I feel safer racing than at a trackday. See you in May. Steve
With the Pro School/ any LED day, remember you don't have to ride all 30 min each session. Especially if you are paying for the pro school, get quality laps with instruction. Most of us are not in "riding shape" come the first weekend of May. You have the option for a lot of laps, but you are not required to go out when you are whooped and try for the magical lap time your buddy told you he did that day you didn't go.
That would be fun. Im pretty sure I will give it a try. I just need to figure out what class my ZX6R falls into (I red the rule book but im still not sure ) since i dont quite make the over 40 thing yet.
Your bike can run C superstock and superbike, B superstock and superbike, A superstock and superbike, and Formula 1.
