fzsnuh - Hey neighbor! I'm over in Florence. We'll have to hook up and ride sometime. Anyone know, is lunch provided? 5 days and counting!
according to the schedule, lunch is not provided. do we still need to pay $5 to enter then? what about spectators? Do they have to pay?
Don't know but we shouldn't have to pay. Already paid for the track day. Now spectators I can understand.
Some guy are you bring your stands? I would but I can't find them, I think someone took them. Hope I can find them. Other wise I won't be able to change out the rear tire if needed.
I'll be riding in the I group both Saturday and Sunday. I'll be on my Rizla MotoGP replica (Hopkins) SV650 (see my avatar). I have a dark blue 4Runner and dark blue trailer. I'll be at the H-I in Cloverdale Friday and Saturday nights. No drinking for me, I don't need to ride with a hangover! Restaurant review: Whatever you do, don't eat dinner at the Mexican restaurant across/down the street from the hotels. The lady at the H-I front desk told me they had great food, but it was possibly the worst Mexican food I've had in my life. Some Guy #2, everybody pays the $5 fee to get into the track, even riders. Kids might be free, but I'm not sure.
The $5 must be for the "fresh fruit, donuts or a sweet bun." Thats from the typical track day info page.
that's what I'm trying to figure out, what is the $5 for? NESBA and curve chasers do not have a gate fee (at Putnam) so is this a STT thing or a Putnam thing? Once again, why isn't this included in the track day cost?
Its a putnam thing....STT just doesn't cover that charge like the rest do. They include it in their membership and sign up fees.
Not to sound like an old man... but if I were you, I'd skip the "drinking"... especially it being your first ever track day.
I'm guessing that you are referring to the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Greencastle... (my home town) Wal-Mart Supercenter Store #902 1750 E Indianapolis Greencastle, IN 46135 (765) 653-2481 might be listed as Indianapolis Rd. there is also the Cloverdale RV Park close by... Jeff
To anyone going to be running Michelin Power Race at Putnam. What compounds are you going to run? I'm currently setup with a med/soft front and med rear. I have a line on a C compound front and soft rear that I can get or another matching set of what I already have. Given the way Putnam is setup and the fact the track just eats tires. Do you think the soft would just get trashed to fast? Intermediate Group
The real question....how will they hold up in the rain?? TrackF3, are you in the novice or intermediate group this time?
Lets hope it doesn't rain. I think I will have to stay home if so. Looks like they are calling for 40% chance of t-storms. My new plastics won't look very good anymore if they go sliding down the track the first time I take them out.
bryanboonern Some people just do better in the rain. Some of the faster riders in the rain are the slowest in dry. Trust in yourself and our machine can make for a really fun day to play in the rain. Still I'm hoping for dry weather.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. I guess I am just a bit nervous about it. I have never been in the rain before and this is my first day in intermediate. I just put on Bridgestone bt002rs. My street tires are regular pilot powers a little more than half worn. Should I try to run the 002's in the rain or put the powers back on?
