Just did Putnam this past weekend. Great track! T1-don't need much brakes speed bleeds off uphill, T2-late apex, don't go wide at entry rumble strips are out wide, T3- on gas setup for 4, T4- late apex, 1st Left hander go easy till left side warms up, but only 2 lefts on track, T5 into T6 hard on gas through this section, T7- bus stop (Don't lock front brake, we had a bike endo and red flag hope rider is feeling better) room to recover in grass if blown entry, T8- hug curb rumble strips out wide, T9 rumble strips out wide can give gas going into T10, T10 late apex. Just my 2cents tho, I've never been there before easy to learn track had a blast there, wish I could make this event!!
Can't wait for this weekend... Putnam has FLOW like no other. Can't wait! (Did I mention that I can't wait?) -Tom
So first time with you guys, I'll be riding in Novice (obviously) and didn't know if there is anything I need to be aware of that wasn't covered in the Tech Checklist posted on the forum, as well as any generalized advice. I did a trackday here about 2 years ago with my Ducati 620 Monster, I'm anticipating it being totally different with the GSXR. Thanks in advance and hope to meet you all!
Anybody want to share some garage space? Don't have much gear and happy to split the $$. Sunday only. Matt
i got a garage for saturday if someone wants to split, im the only one in it right now, anyone can txt if interested 314-712-5477, i wouldnt mind another bike or two in there, i get bored by myself
I'll be there but not riding, as I am injured. If you would like to ask me some questions, I'd do my best to answer them.
no more room it looks like, wanted to come saturday definitely and possibly sunday. If anyone has anything come up and can't make it I will gladly buy your saturday spot. Was extremely excited until today when I found out the novice group was already solt out :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
If you read the FAQ about how to prep your bike and do what they tell you, everything will go smoothly. These are a really great bunch of guys. If you've never done a track day with STT before, you'll likely be very impressed by the classroom time for the novice group.
Well I've checked the list twice, so I should be ready to roll. I've heard the instructors are great with STT, the one other time I did one we had a basic novice group instruction then we were basically let free. I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can improve throughout the day.
stoked to be at a completely different track from ACC. Dont get me wrong, i love ACC, but its nice to venture out! I apologize in advance to who ever winds up being my coach, I'm going to pick your brain regarding lines. Mine were all messed up last day, and i think i need some 'splaining on how to figure out a good line.
