Money is always an object Thank you for the advice, and it makes a lot of sense and was what I was thinking. Makes little sense to spend $$$ for both days, if it's going to take one day just to learn the track anyway. That money would be more efficiently spent on tires, or even another day at Jason's school at Barber later on. That way I'm not burning $$ just to learn the track. P.S. What's the pit setup? Power? Since this is my first weekend at RA, I on both days? Thanks much!!! I gotta do SOMETHING to try and keep up with Jay and Charlie!!!
ratl keith, my first time at RAtl was great. honestly, the track took 3 sessions to become comfortable. the number of sessions it'll take to become fast? ∞ great track. I think your idea of riding sat and schooling sun is good. however, I'd find out about the config; isn't the final word no chicane sat, yes chicane sun? (that thread is so long and confusing.) I bring the genny, but so far haven't needed it. there has been an open (and consistently working) outlet available. you're gonna love it. glad the TN crew will represent.
Does anyone know if Ken from SB Suspensions will be there? I just bought a GSX-R600 and want to get the suspension done.
I'm in!! Can't wait to hit get on that track again! And it may be my birthday the same weekend. Gifts are welcome!! Lol
I'm in!! Had my slots for both days in N since May. Looking forward to a new track and a great experience. :-D
Love RA I love RA but I'll can't be there I'll miss the awesome people, good riding, Fun time Should I just cancel the cruise to Alaska? My wife will kill me! I hope everyone will have a lot of fun and safe weekend!
Since I've never been to RA, what exactly IS the pit situation? Concrete? Gravel? Water? Cover? SECURITY?
Paddock is paved but crap everywhere last two times I was there. Take extra tires. Track is awesome though.
I reckon i have been lucky, i have never gotten anything in my tires (knock on wood). There is security 24/7. Road Atlanta is a huge track/facility. There is a shower, but it is in the upper/outside paddock (we are using the inner paddock, so if you are camping, you will have to drive to the shower...unless you want to walk a mile or so). But there is a public bathroom inside the inner paddock.
Usually after a big race the paddock will have a lot of crap laying around. I have had a few things stick in my tires, but never a puncture. You will find a lot of tires vales on the pavement there. They don't keep it as clean as Barber. The paddock is all paved but there is really no shade.
