I thought the purpose was to create a little bit of additional drag to help slow down...shows my lack of knowledge....
There was an article awhile back about it. They said that the same riders, leg in or leg out had the same weight distribution, same braking time, everything the same either way. I think it's just one of those do whatever feels right things for them.
Oh, come on, Mc Vay! You honestly think that shoving down hard on a solid bit of the motorcycle, below the center of gravity, at the center of the wheelbase, 6 inches to one side of the center line won't make the bike just swoop into an instant turn? :bounce:
you ever think maybe their "parts" are so big they need to put the leg out to adjust them? we always say "you gotta have a big set to go that fast"
It really must just fall back to comfort levels. If it works for them, obviously works for Stoner, then there's not much of a reason to try to adjust riding styles.
I'll just start using both legs and both hands in order to increase my surface area. The air drag will slow me down.
